Today I finally started the process of getting help for my depression and anxiety. I took forever to find a place that would take me with no insurance without charging a kidney. I go back tomorrow to get evaluated for meds.
@sassybitch exactly. And paying fines for not being able to afford it was ridiculous. Not being able to be dropped or denied for preexisting conditions is great though.
@tiredmom It needs some serious tweaking. I mean, if it prevents companies from being able to off part time benefits, how can it be considered affordable? Nope, a lot of people got screwed by it.
@sassybitch it was a good idea, just poorly executed. And it hasn't gotten any better.
@tiredmom @shellyabennett94 I was insured through work before the ACA passed, then most companies did away with part time benefits so I lost it. We are small business owners and can't afford the premiums to insure ourselves. So much for it being "AFFORDABLE" Care Act 🙄
@sassybitch yes it is. And the worst part is, is the only reason I'm getting this help is because my kid's pediatrician gave me a letter to take I to this place saying I need help or CPS would have to do well checks 🙄🙄🙄. They told me they weren't threatening me, but it's the only way to guarantee that they would take me.
@tiredmom, that’s amazing I’m 4 month pp & my anxiety is getting so bad ! & @sassybitch, it’s ridiculous !!
@shellyabennett94 it took far too long to find a place. My kid's pediatrician found a place for me. They've been a great help.
@sassybitch oh so very stupid.
