I know they say they only do more than 2 ultrasounds if your high risk but I see ladies getting them around this time and it’s checking for fluid amounts .... soooo does my doc not think that’s a priority or ?🤔 I just won’t know huh
@keeondracarroll01, I have an appointment Friday so I’m going to ask if that’s the reason !
@patrycjalai, seriously your so lucky 😩 I know I’m in network is why I chose the office I’m at but I guess it’s up to the practice for sure
I was not high risk and I had ultrasound at every appointment. Starting at 6,8,12 weeks. I actually declined some ultrasounds because I was running short on time.
It really depends on the practice. As long as I’m in-network they do it at every visit.
@kig7717 oh ok yeah then it might be that is the case my insurance just ticks me off bc I don't have the money to pay for one and then need to know how much he weighs and stuff
@keeondracarroll01, I hadn’t even thought about my insurance being the issue I think that’s it because I do have a different insurance than I did 5 yrs ago when I had my daughter. I thought maybe she would’ve told me that was the reason instead she was just vague and said “no issues so only two”
@nomli, see I hadn’t thought of that the insurance part 🤔🤔 I think that has to be it then because I do have a different insurance than I had with my daughter 5 yrs ago
@jleona, see i gotta be missing one but they told me I don’t get any more now I just wait for him to come 🤨
Mine is my insurance unfortunately
I have the same insurance I had with my daughter but I guess they changed how many ultrasounds u get it's been 4 yrs in between & with her I got one all the time and then I had high blood pressure from 37 weeks onward and had to get one every week
This time I've only been allowed to get 1 paid by insurance at 18 weeks
And they had to do a rescan bc they couldn't see everything they needed to on his heart so a 2nd at 22 weeks and then I went into preterm Labour at 34 weeks and I had to demand one before I was sent home my dr wanted another to see his weight n everything last week but my insurance wouldn't pay for it
I was only supposed to have two but had three because I was having severe pain and they wanted to make sure all was good. But my last was at 20 weeks. Some doctors only do two, some do three. Some will only do the third trimester you're not measuring correctly to see what's up. It also depends on your insurance. Many only cover two unless you're high risk.
My first I was high risk so I had a lot. With my 2nd and 3rd I had a total of 3 .. The very first one, anatomy and then my final one for both of them was around 36 weeks.
@alyssa5792, seeee !! Good thing they checked sometimes I feel leaky but they say around this time you get more discharge so I sweep a lot under the rug so I hope his fluid is okay in there
I think it depends on the doctor and what issues there may be. My daughter I had 4. That dr typically only does a heart beat and anatomy one. But my daughter had a cyst they needed to see if it resolved and I fell so they checked baby out.
This pregnancy I have had like 5-6 idk I have lost count. Typically this doctor also only does heartbeat and anatomy. But I have had other issues this pregnancy. I have had low fluid so they have periodically checked and rechecked it. And I was in labor at 34 weeks so they did one then as well. I don’t think I will have another but who knows.
