Idk how to feel about this pregnancy, it took us sooooo long to get pregnant (10 yrs) and i am always in fear of something happening, it's hard to just enjoy it, s/o is always talking about the baby and I just shut down. I feel like if I acknowledge this pregnancy and something happens it's gonna take longer to get over it so I try and shut it out. This child is very much wanted I just can't shake how I'm feeling.
Plz tell me this is normal

Definitely normal Hun. It's terrifying when you've struggled so much. I have never "connected" with baby during pregnancy because of the fear I have of losing baby. It's a self preservation type of thing. I never feel safe until I am holding baby in my arms. Set little goals for yourself and treat yourself to something special when you reach them during this pregnancy. Pamper yourself and take care of you the best way you can. And know you're not alone! 💙💗

Took us 5 years but I felt the exact same way. I didn't want to be excited.

I love my little one to death but I’m also somewhat detached because I’m so afraid of something going wrong 😩. Pretty normal I would say.

That is 100% normal. I miscarried before I had my first son and I really didn't think I could even have children. When I got pregnant with him I was a total wreck or just ignoring it, didn't want to talk about it, even well after 12wks when they say you're "safe now"... Probably about 16wks for me too. I still even felt the same kinda with this baby, even though my first born is happy and healthy. I would say it's okay to feel that way and sorta ignore it until after 12wks, and not to want to tell anyone. But don't ignore to the point where you do too much or don't take your prenatals. Start taking prenatal and folic acid, drink a lot of water. Maybe find a hobby and take your mind off it until you can feel better about baby. Also, congratulations 👏❤

@mnturdburgler, I think it’s a normal feeling to have. Your in still the unknowns of pregnancy, and I know I was on pins and needles until the second trimester. I just tried to remain positive.

Thank you for that.

Yep normal. We lost our first pregnancy to miscarriage, and really didn’t start feeling ok until about my 16 week appointment. We waited until after the anatomy scan to announce it on our social media, and tell whoever else didn’t know at that point.
