I really hope this question doesn’t make me sound dumb or clueless lol BUT is a baby car seat placed in the middle backseat or on the sides near the window? I keep seeing it placed differently and I’m a little confused.
The middle is safer but his seat doesn't fit properly there the way the seats are set up. When he front faces it'll fit better, but rear the drivers seat has to be pushed way too forward, so I barely fit and his dad doesn't fit. I think some cars don't have the proper attachments or seat belt for the middle install, also. Check the manual for your car...it should tell you.
This is very interesting! I wasn’t aware that the middle seat is safer. Thanks for asking this
@mrschanandlerbong95, I feel you on that lol I’m 5’2 it’ll probably be way easier for me too
I had my first child in the middle. The second, and these two have been/will be at window seats. As a short girl, I find it easier to have the car seats at the window, so I don’t have to climb all the way in the car
@squishymommy1, totally agree, I’m definitely getting it checked soon because being a ftm I just want to make sure everything is 100% correct
The middle is up to 43% safer. BUT that doesn’t mean the out board positions are unsafe. I’ve never personally put my kids in the middle. The safest position is one where your car seat will be USED and installed properly. Every. Single. Time.
Ours is behind the passenger seat because we have a compact car and that's the only place it fits. Whatever works, works. As long as it's not in the front seat. 😊
