@mommyteam28, I mean he can’t be mad if you lied about taking $20 bucks out of his wallet. But if it was a lie to cover up doing something really bad. I can see him having a hard time trusting you
@damn.it.red, it’s just about this ex which that ex owes me money but I was gonna tell him I was talking to him not like that but just to get my money back and he found out which to him lying is a big deal
@mommyteam28, well I can see why in that instance. That is your ex. Just be upfront about everything. That’s all I can tell you. I’ve been with my husband for 11 years and I don’t care if he’s going to get mad or not I’ll tell him the truth about everything.
I think it depends. Was it a lie of omission or did you flat out tell him out weren't speaking to the ex? If it was just omission then it may be fairly easy, just explain everything, show him texts if there are any, and never lie again, even by omission. If you flat out lied, like "No, I haven spoken to so and so in X amount of time" when you really were, I'm not sure any amount of explaining will fully restore trust. You may get back some but it's possible it'll always be in the back of his head, that he may never know if you're telling the truth or not. Just be open and don't hide things in the future.
Complete transparency. Give him your passwords and whatnot so he can physically see that nothing inappropriate was going on. Give him time and space. You lied, he caught you. He needs to process that and come to terms with it, and it can't be rushed.
@techie_grrl, I delete everything in front of him and I told him I’ll do anything and everything to prove it to him !!! But it wasn’t like I was cheating on him , it’s just my ex messaged me and I didn’t tell him about it I was but he found out before I could but he thinks I’m lying that I talk to them usually which it isn’t the case he seen the messages they were for 2 days that it
@mommyteam28 well then, it seems that you've already done what can be done for now. He's seen the messages, you deleted them, now it's pretty much up to him to either accept or reject the gesture.

A lie is a lie. Either by omission or blatant. Time. It takes time and effort to prove you’re actually sorry and it won’t happen again.
