Question on Postpartum bleeding.

How long did you bleed for? Not spot, not lochia , like actual bleeding red. I’m 2.5 weeks postpartum and was recently just spotting / lochia and today I started bleeding heavy bright red. I don’t remember that happening with my last two. Wondering if I should be concerned.

@krs1415, thank you ! That’s what I’ve been reading can happen and I’m terrified of it. I’m definitely gonna keep an eye on it just in case. Hope all is well with you now !

I'm 3w pp and still bleeding red. It was actually almost completely stopped, brown even. Be very careful though. Keep an eye on time. At 10 days pp this time I hemrroged. I was filling a pad in 5 mins, soaked my clothes and a towel on the way to the ER that's only 5 mins away. I started having massive clots an hour into the bleeding. They gave me a shot they give to women with heavy flows and pp bleeding to slow it down but it didn't work. Then they had to give me meds they give to surgical patients during surgery who are bleeding out, and it took two of those before I finally stopped. They had to put me in two adult diapers and cover the bed in floor in blue pads and plastic. It's scary! As long as you're not bleeding that heavy you should definitely be okay up until 6 weeks.

@momofemersonbliss, @tasticmel, thank you! I don’t remember bleeding this much with my last two so I was panicking since I have been a bit more active this time around. I’ll try resting more to see if it makes a difference. I tried googling it and google just freaked me out more

You can bleed on and off for
6 weeks or more . Usually it becomes bright red again if you’re doing a lot of activity . If you’re filling a whole
Pad quickly I’d call
Your ob or go
To The hospital

It was on and off for the first 6 weeks tbh. It would be light and then suddenly start up again out of nowhere. Sorry to ask, what does lochia mean?
