*RANT* Pretty upset. My BIL used to be around constantly when we had our daughter, he was always over and kept in contact with us everyday to check on her, bought her gifts, etc. We chose him to be her godfather because of how much love he had for her and how well he took care of her. Since she's been 6 months maybe hes been totally MIA. Doesn't call/text back, doesn't ask about her, nothing. He hasn't seen her since aside from pictures on social media which he doesn't even like or comment on those anymore. He posts all the time about his cousins sons and how great they are, but now doesn't even recognize our daughter exists. I have no idea what happened. I thought we would've seen him at the last family event, but he didn't show up and I'm wondering if it's because he knew we were there. My husband tried texting him and he responded with an apology at about 1AM. My husband didn't answer because we were sleeping and maybe a half hour after he sent the apology he was like "fine I see how it is". In the morning my husband responded to say he had fallen asleep and that he just wanted everything to be good again, but his brother never responded. I feel so bad because that was the one person in my husband's family that was always around and reliable and now since this happened my husband has no one in his family that really bothers to even check in with him. I wish he would come back into our lives, but I don't want to text/call or force him to speak to us if he doesn't want to. Just wish we could've at least gotten a reason why he disappeared.

I would text him and tell him how you feel. How you guys miss him and would love to get together and do something fun as a family. Maybe have a cook out?
If he never responds, you know where you guys are at in his life.

@messybunmom Thank you for actually reading this first off 😊 and yeah I think that's what we're going to do. It's kind of what my husband attempted to do already, but it ended up being a fail. I was thinking one more try and if nothing comes out of it we will just have to accept the fact that for whatever reason he's not interested in being in our lives anymore.

I'm sorry for your daughter. I know that is a difficult situation. Does your husband know what happened? Him saying he just wants everything to be good again made me wonder if he knew (if he doesn't his brother may think he knows as that's what I thought idk).
I would message him explaining you are all confused as to what happened but whatever it is would like to talk through it as you all miss him...especially his niece. And if he is willing to talk about it you guys can all meet up for lunch or dinner somewhere (maybe a park or something neutral just so he doesn't feel trapped at your place).

@heilwife317 My husband doesn't know what happened either. Literally his brother just dropped off the face of the Earth one day. I'm thinking because his cousin isn't a fan of us, she's been keeping his brother away from us since I think they might live together I'm not sure.

@emily526 jeez. That is really sad. I get it though. My foster brother isn't a part of my life at all because of my foster mom (who I was abused by and abandoned by) because she has convinced him she is a perfect mom and I made everything up (despite the court documentation).
Unfortunately it does go to show you that people will believe whatever is convenient for them. So if he is living with her then it is "safer" for his life to act like she is right even if she isn't...and even if he knows she isn't.

@heilwife317 It's so unfortunate because he was so involved in the beginning of her life. I just feel bad for my husband too that not one person is his family can be around for him.

@emily526 yeah. I get that it can be hard. I have friends though that I consider family and we incorporate in such a way. That might be your all's next step.

@heilwife317 I lost most, if not all of my friend when I had my daughter. They just all the sudden stopped having any time to hangout. But my husband's friends are still around, I've been trying to encourage him to spend more time with them and invite them over and stuff to keep them involved.
