Today I made a run to Walmart because we forgot a couple of things when we went grocery shopping yesterday. Liam and I got our stuff, browsed around a while, and then went to the checkout line. We had only five items but the lady in front of us had a cart full of things. No problem, we are in no hurry and don’t mind waiting. As I’m explaining to Liam he can’t have the candy in the aisles because we had some at home and putting up the items he did pick up, a lady walked in line behind us with her (approximately) eight year old daughter. They only had one item. As we are standing in line this lady keeps making nasty comments about me. “Look how trashy she looks with all those tattoos. You’re NEVER going to allow yourself do nasty things like that.” “Omg her shorts are WAAAY too short. Just a little shorter and her nasty junk will pop out.” “That just makes you look so trashy, what was she thinking?!” “Someone should tell her she looks like complete crap,” and other comments similar to those. She wasn’t even trying to be quiet about it. She kept going on and on with these horrible comments. So I turned around to face her, noticed she had only one item, and sweetly offered to let her go ahead of me (since she was obviously struggling to look at me). She then looks me up and down and says “oh no honey, WE’RE fine,” in a super nasty tone. So I turned back around and played with Liam. She never made another comment. I have thick skin so her comments towards me didn’t bother me too much. What bothered me was the fact she was making these horrible comments to her young daughter. She’s teaching her daughter to be judgmental and mean. It shouldn’t have surprised me in the slightest but it did. The picture is what I wore to Walmart (ignore the mess, we moved to a new house and things still are not in order). Everything was covered. I understand that I have a bigger butt and normal shorts for other people turn into short shorts for me, it’s something I can’t help. It’s too hot for pants and above all I want to be comfortable in this 101 degree weather. Those of you that know me well, know that normally I have a temper and a big mouth (I’ve honestly been working hard on that), and know that normally I would turn around and be nasty back. Instead I chose to be an example for my four year old son and retaliate in a more positive manner. You can’t control the situation but you can choose how you react to it. I hope her daughter chooses not to act like her mother and chooses to be kinder to others. This is the type of thing that makes me sick to my stomach that I brought a child into such a cruel world. The world has enough negativity without another person contributing to it.

Lady sounds like my mom. Can NEVER say anything nice about another woman. For as long as I can remember she has always put other women down. Thank god I did NOT take after her.
But you look good! Absolutely nothing wrong with what your wearing or how you look.

@whitninicole, thank you!! I hope she realized she was being awful when I didn’t react to it.
@taymw11, I can’t either. And if she didn’t like the way I looked she could have just moved on, no need to comment on it, especially in front of her young daughter. And thanks!! 🖤
@murdock_, I really hope she does, not just for her sake, but for that little girl too!
@ss3mom, we live in a cruel world. We really do. And thank you!! I still love your hair btw!
