I know babies can still flip around to be head down, but as you progress in pregnancy, the chances of them flipping diminishes. Anywho... who here has had a baby breech at 32 weeks but baby ended up flipping head down? Who has had the opposite experience?

@boymom_ definitely! He has already said no matter if I go into the hospital for natural labor or scheduled c-section (regardless of past history of baby's position) he will do an u/s. With my last 2 deliveries (different doctor), I was induced at 36 & 37 weeks and only given an u/s with my second. Not to check if the baby is breeched, but to check for fluid. So it crazy to me that u/s at time of labor isn't more often than it should be. Although, my doctor did say he can tell the baby's position by touch of my belly, but he likes to be 100% so that's when the u/s is done regardless of what he feels.

@nschlegel, I can’t believe they aren’t regularly doing ultrasounds being cesareans .. that’s the first thing they checked when I went in because of how he was flipping whenever he felt like it. That should be a protocol. Then they said I should be induced with him head down at the time because he was moving so much, which I was fine with at 39wks. There was a medical term for it but I forgot what it’s called 🤷🏼‍♀️ you have time though so hopefully all goes in your favor, if u end up in for a c section make sure they u/s you first for sure!

@boymom_ yep! That's why my doctor is scheduling u/s at 36 weeks and whenever I go into labor/have a c-section scheduled. Baby can flip late, it is just the chances of them flipping closer to their due date, decreases. Believe me, neither of us wants a c-section. I actually fins relief knowing my doctor will do everything he can to avoid a c-section. Not all docs are like that. I've heard stories of women being breech at 36 weeks, get scheduled a c-section at 39 weeks and the baby ended up being head down at time of c-section. So not only did you deliver a baby by c-section that didn't need it, but you also took the baby early....

So my doctor saying/doing what he is, makes me feel a 1000x better.

I just like to hear about other people's experience just to get an idea of what to expect.

@nschlegel He flipped at the last second. We knew it could happen and I made sure I had a doctor that would deliver breech to avoid a c-section. They were alright with it because the babies were measuring about the same size and dd already led the way. He turned out to be about a pound bigger though. But still over a pound less than my first daughter.

My baby flipped head down at 39wks the night before his scheduled cesarean 🤪. Never give up hope, long as your baby is strong they can move literally until they are born. tho the chances are less likely as u said it is still very possible, good luck!!

@momof3qtpies goodness! Unfortunately, my doctor doesn't want to take the risk of doing a vaginal delivery with a breech baby. So he said if baby is breech at 36 weeks, we will schedule a c-section at 40 weeks. Then when I arrive, they'll do another u/s- if baby didn't flip, they'll go ahead and do c-section. If baby is head down, I'll ultimately get sent home and go in natural labor. He has told me several times and assured me he doesn't want to intervene with the natural process and would rather me go into labor when baby is ready.

My 1 twin was breech until my 36 weeks ultrasound. His sister was born first and he flipped back up when she came out. He was delivered breech.

@beeforever98 Awesome! GREAT to know! I have an U/S in 4 weeks to see baby's position. So this makes me feel a little better. I know there are exercises so I'm going to Google some. Thank you!

Baby was head down all the way until around 30 weeks he flipped to breech position and for 5 weeks straight he was hanging out like that however yesterday I went to my appointment and found out baby had finally flipped again to head down at 35 weeks I did a few exercises around 34 weeks and I’m sure that helped!
