Okay, so I'm late in this, but decided I wanted to share how my birth went with my baby girl!
Miss Aribella Michelle:

Due date was 6/23 ; Birthday was 6/12 at 7:54 pm. She was 8 pounds 12 oz and 20 in long.
Kind of long story ahead. I suck at trying to tell about how things go lol.
So, here's how our journey went! I had my weekly checkup at my ob Tuesday morning (6/12)at 9 am. First thing he asked was if i had contractions/any signs of labor/etc. I told him no, and he said something around the lines that since its my first child they would want to induce me next week around 39 weeks. Eeks! Things started to seem a little real, but boy did I have no clue! He then proceeds to do the usual measuring of belly and listening to her heartbeat. Then he decides to check my cervix for the first time. He and the nurse go back and forth saying stuff along the lines of "oh good good, this is good" and sounding kind of shocked as he was. Finally, I can't take the suspense anymore and ask what's up. Turned out I was dilates to a 4. Yep. A four. No clue at all. Didn't know why this was shocking to him, but he explained that typically women who have had a lot of kids, like 3 or 4 plus can walk around at 2 cm dilated unknowingly but not at 4cm. Okay. So I'm dilated but not feeling anything at all. I think I'm still going to go to my regular scheduled Tuesday nst an hour after my dr appoointment and then Ill go home and nap. (Me and my bf had a bbq the night before and had a couple people over and had very little sleep) Haha wrong. He said to go straight to l&d to monitor of i was in labor or not. I get there and they hook me up to the typical monitors, and for about an hour and a half it feels just like a nst. My bf and I are still discussing what we will do when we go home after this. Then they have the on call dr at the hospital come in and check me out. He checks my cervix and I am now at 6.5cm about 2 hours after my dr initially checked me. And according to the monitors I am having contractions(and feel nothing of them). They move me to labor and delivery room and my Dr comes to the hospital to break my water around 12:30 I think. They hook me up to pitosin. Things slow down a bit, and it takes until about 6:00 for me to get to 9 cm dilated. I feel tiny bits of contractions at this point but its mostly feeling like tiny gas pains. When the nurse checked and saw I am at 9cm or so she said just the right side of my cervix needed to go a bit more and to lay on my side. Thats when I started actually getting contraction pain that I could feel intense. At about 7 they have me start pushing. I really didnt understand what they wanted me to do so the first like 20 minutes of pushing was pretty much wasted sadly. But I finally understood what to do and found the best way to hold myself to do it. They call the dr in when it's close to time to catch her, but it almost ended up being the nurse to catch her cause i couldnt hold my pushing in at that point while he geared up. But he got done just in time and caught her. I didnt even realize when I birthed the after birth lol. I had to ask if I still needed to do it. Anyways long story to say I did what I was always hoping to do but never thought in a million years I could do, birth my baby girl with no pain medicine.
