Has anyone ever had to be induced an had to get there water broken by their doctor, if so can you tell me how does it…

I had to have my baby at 37 weeks do to preclamp. I asked for the epidural then they started pitocin,& when they broke my water i didn't feel a thing!

I was induced with both my kids. First time my water broke naturally, second time they broke it. It doesn’t feel like anything. All you’re going to feel is the doctor inserting their fingers really. So no more than just a cervical check.

And I was exactly the same as you with the epidural! I got an epidural at my first induction before they even started pitocin! I felt nothing all night long. Bad part about that is that it wore off by the time I had the baby and I felt EVERYTHING. It was excruciating.

Second time I got the epidural right after they started pitocin and I felt nothing the whole process. Labor was super quick (2 hours) so no time for it to wear off. I will take the epidural BEFORE the pain every single time!

With my second I was leaking fluid very slowly for about 12 hrs so they finally decided to break the bag the rest of the way. I felt it was uncomfortable, like getting a pap done, but not painful. No meds though so I don’t know what effect pitocin will have.

@mikidsfirst to be honest it wasn't very difficult to go through. My platelets were dropping, if they get too low they won't let you get the epidural so they recommend getting right away if I wanted it, which I did, so I didn't feel anything much worse than period like cramps the whole time. I've heard horror stories about inductions and epidurals abut mine went as well as it could have. I was pleasantly surprised

@mommy21angel I would've been furious at a 3 hr wait then by the time they came you was already too far. But I'm not gonna wait on the epidural ima ask for it ahead of time just in case the person do take long just to come to give it to me cause ik they don't always be on call for that when they should.

@alexias When I did my hospital tour I asked them if I was to come in 6cm dilated would I be able to get my epidural the lady told me yea which was a shocking she said they try to get them in as quick as possible so the moms would be comfortable which made me happy lol but ik a lot of hospitals don't do that I'm glad mine do bc this will be my first time delivering there.

I was induced and the Dr broke my water didnt feel her break my wager but I wish I had gotten the epidural before she broke my water as soon as she did horrible back labor started. Had to wait almost 3 hours for the person for the epidural but when he finally came in as soon as I sat up I went from 5 cm to 9 cm and they gave me the spinal but baby was still not low enough and a little of my cervix was still in the way so it wore off and had to wait another 2-3 hours before they finally gave me the epidural. Would not recommend waiting for the epidural if you're going to get it...

@mikidsfirst yea it did .. Try to wait it out for awhile but dont wait tooo long then itll really be late to get it!

@alexias Your epidural must of worn off when it was time for you to give birth?

@mrsskiddish Nawl its not uncomfortable at all it didn't bother me for neither one of my 2 pregnancies getting the epidural. But yea I do feel that it's better also to wait when you're in really strong pain that's what I did for my first two I didn't even ask for it they just gave it to me because of the pain I was going through but breathing through the contractions helped me to stay still while getting the epidural

Once you feel like you can't handle the contractions ask! Thats what i did . i felt soooo good lol until it came time to push i felt every thing lol

I was induced with my first two. Pitocin first then they broke my water then epidural. I never felt any discomfort with the pitocin or the water breaking. But once that water broke contractions got bad fast. My first I tried to wait it out to get the epidural. My second I ask for it right away. I almost think it was better to get it when I was in more pain because then the epidural placement wasn’t as uncomfortable lol

@kirstin678 That's really good to hear. I'm sorry to hear that yours wore off I would've went in straight panic mode lol asking them to do what they can for me not to have to feel all that pain pushing out baby but only if its safe. But thankfully I never had mines to wear off hoping it doesn't happen with this one. Lol ikr epidural is like a girls best friend when that pain starts to strike in.

@pinnkmom Yea for both my sons my contractions where very strong to the point I couldn't walk but I got epidurals with both them an water broke on its own after they gave me the epidural.

I had my last appt today an I asked her but she just said she's not sure if they will break it or not she said they normally do depending on how far I'm dilated but right now I'm 1cm dilated an they are gonna induce me Friday at 5a.m.

I wasn’t induced but my doctor did have to break my water. Honestly it was painful and I had an epidural.

@_xoivyjayde 😮😮 WoW 10 days over due + 10×'s worse the pain. I couldn't even imagine how you felt having to be going through all that.

WOW! 😯 poor poor baby I hate he had to go through that omg an you having to do an emergency c-section so sorry to hear that.

Well the good thing is you got to get your epidural so the pain wouldn't be as bad.

@mikidsfirst, well they broke my water with my first, my son. I ended up getting the epidural AFTER they broke my water, those contractions came on so strong !! With my daughter (who I just had) my water broke own it’s own and I had her all natural. Both times, My contractions were painful, but i think the contractions with my son were worse.

Talk to your doctor, they’ll let you know what’s best. Depending on how you progress, you may have to wait until you’re a few centimeters dilated before they give you an epidural.

My first, they put me on pitocin, I was 10 days over due, It made the contractions feel 10x's worse than they already felt.

My second, they inserted this pill into my cervix to start the dilation and labor process, the contractions weren't as bad as with my first, but the process of the insertion was highly uncomfortable. & They did it multiple times but it put him in so much distress and he wrapped himself in his cord so that turned into an emergency c-section.

They broke my water both times, I already had the epidural by then so it just felt more uncomfortable than anything and you feel this extremely warm gush lol

@alexias See this is what I want for me when I get induced the epidural before they start any process of anything an I would be in heaven if they can do this for me.

@rebelprincesz24 36 weeks an you had already made it to 6/7 cm dilated my goodness I would've been in complete shock my self especially feeling no serious pain that was a serious blessing for you not to feel anything an be dilated so far that freaking crazy 😊

@pinnkmom I see you literally just went through with this on having your baby. An that's why I want a epidural before the contractions even get to that point but idk if they do that or not.

@janeljade1985 Wow that's crazy how it still didn't give you any process on it's on ik that had to be difficult for you to go through.

@mikidsfirst, I was gonna get an epidural but when I went in for my 36 week checkup and found out I was 6/7 cm dilated I was kinda shocked bc the contractions I was having wasn’t very painful lol. They only busted my water and put the pitocin on me because my fiancé wanted to be there for the birth and i had spent all afternoon waiting to go in labor but didn’t they said my water was so thick it would of never busted on it’s own. By the time they busted it, it was 4 something in the morning.

I didn’t get induced, but they had to break my waters. I didn’t feel it, and I didn’t have any meds! My contractions became super intense super fast afterwards 😣

Having my water broken was uncomfortable but my so held my hand and it was over quickly. After that they waited to see if labor would progress on its own but it didn't so they gave me the epidural and then started petocin. From the water breaking to baby arriving it was 9 hours, was way easier than my first where labor started on its own

It does not hurt at all. Dont worry. Its done in seconds. All you will feel is a gush of warm water.

@rebelprincesz24 I'm hoping I don't feel a thing its good to hear that it doesn't hurt give me some relief an wow 9 1/2cm that's amazing meaning you didn't have to stay in pain too long but I not strong for a natural birth lol I gotta get the epidural.

@mikidsfirst, it lasted less then 5 mins. Just think of it as a messy pelvic exam 😊

@mikidsfirst, Less than a minute! It’s a fast process, the water just flows on out. It’s not as bad as people make it. But then again I don’t know what it’s like for my water to break on it’s own.

@lillys.mommy Oh God!!! The vision of a crochet needle scares me lol. I'm hoping I can get through it because seeing stuff like that knowing where its going scares me crazy omg so not looking forward to this but its really good to know that it didn't hurt you at all.

@boymom1307 Oh wow! That's so scary omg I don't know what to expect I wish they could give me my epidural so I could be calm when they do it because ima be thinking about none but pain. How long do it take for them to break your water?

Didn’t hurt me just felt like a giant water balloon burst inside me. Mine was all natural and the most pain I felt was after they busted my water and they started the pitocin bc I was 9 1/2 cm dilated which only lasted like 15 mins. Had to wait on my dr to get there and soon as he got there I was ready to have my daughter

Having my water broken wasn’t bad at all. It’s almost like having your cervix checked. They use a long scary looking thing that looks like a crochet hook but it doesn’t hurt you. The only uncomfortable thing for me was my daughter had her feet on my ribs pushing against the doc lol 😂

It was over fast. Super messy but not painful really

I was induced with my first born! They started pitocin at 6 A.M, and they broke my water sometime around lunch. I’m not sure exactly when I got my epidural but I was almost at a 7.

Honestly when my water was broke, it felt like an uncomfortable pelvic exam. But I’ve had to have my water broken with both of my kids.

I didn't feel it when they broke my water but my contractions started coming more rapidly and I really started to feel them
