Today his doctor asked if he was still rearfacing, or if we turned him around. I said he'll be rearfacing until he doesn't fit the seat anymore, which at this rate won't be until he's 4.

@nomli, exactly! We switched because we moved. I was in love with our previous dr but this new place is ok too.
We were already planning on keeping our boy rear facing as long as possible but it was nice to hear here say it because I feel like not enough drs place enough importance on it.

@mswedes, and a lot of people give grief for the being too "overprotective" when you do it too.

@mswedes, that's great!! I love our pediatrician. She may have been a large factor in why we didn't move as far as we had originally planned.

I hear and see a lot of parents saying their child's legs are too long and they have to be bent, so they no longer fit. Yup. My son is almost three feet tall, if he can still rearface comfortably, your 30" child can too.

My pediatrician asked me yesterday if my son is rear facing. I said yes and she said “good. He needs to stay that way until at least 2 but can definitely go longer. Most parents think their child is too big but that just isn’t true” I appreciated it so much. I appreciated that she was current on her car seat info. Btw it was my first time at this office so it definitely made me feel better
