flu??
I didn't get the flu shot, I never do cause I don't believe in it. But, I was exposed to it. My mil, sil, and fiance have had it. Now, I'm having the same symptoms that my fiance started out with. Headache that feels like my head is full. Cough with mucus, it hurts to cough and my chest hurts. Also this morning, baby girl hasn't been moving as much as she normally does. She's normally very active. I'm at work so I can't really lay down to see. But I read that you should seek emergency care if you have pain or pressure in your chest area, fever (don't have yet but super warm) and also decrease baby movement. What do you ladies think I should do?

I agree with not getting the shot but I do when I'm pregnant because I'm so scared of this! I'm sorry you're not feeling well! I would call your OB and ask for advice.

I’d go to urgent care. Better safe than sorry and they can do a swab test for the flu

I would go in and get swabbed, I don’t know if they can give you Tamiflu because you’re pregnant but it’s worth a shot. Better to catch it early especially with decreased movement

My OB told me to go to triage if I think I have the flu. It’s super important to keep hydrated and fluids going. I personally wouldn’t take Tamiflu but definitely at least go in and see your OB.

Ask for tamiflu (it stops the flu in its tracks and u get minimal symptoms) most obs will allow it during pregnancy

That just sounds like a cold right now. Go to the doctor if your concerned. I’ve had the flu twice now since being pregnant I didn’t see a doctor nor take any medicine. It sucks. I slept for like three days each time.

@mumma that's how all of theirs started out. Cold symptoms that got worse

I just got over a cold/flu. It was a rough few days. I think I'd stay out of urgent care unless it's urgent for now. You'll be exposed to a lot of yuck while your immune system is low. I took regular Tylenol every 4-6 hours, lots of water with lemon, tea and honey and rest. Hope it doesn't get serious for you!

I didn’t get the shot either. I didn’t want to expose baby to all the toxins. But I’m still terrified of the flu!!! This year’s flu shot is only 10% effective so there’s no guarantee you would have avoided it even with the shot. I would go and get tested and make sure your OB knows so you are very closely monitored. Take care and feel better!!!!
