My doctor also recommended me getting the flu shot while pregnant ? I'm not sure if I want to or if i should ? It's all scary to me !! What do you ladies think ? Did you get the flu shot while pregnant ? Are there any risks? Or should I wait ? I'm so scared of taking anything while pregnant , much less getting this shot.. He said it isn't mandatory , just recommended.
@angikay, yeah that’s when I got mine too. It’s recommended then from memory.

I know I’m late to this, but I got mine. There are studies in pregnant women as they have found the flu shot can actually lower your risk of miscarriage!
After one sleeping baby I choose to do anything I can to reduce the risk of another. I’ve had it in all my pregnancies since my sleeping angel.
Ive had flu shots while pregnant. It's very beneficial to the baby,it gives them a little protection. They can't get one until 6mo.
I have 10 healthy kids😍 they also get flu shots😉
The flu is supposed to be really bad like last year! If I can give any bit of protection, I'm doing it.
The choice is clearly up to you though!
I didn’t because at the time they couldn’t tell me if it would cause any harm to the baby. This was almost 6 years ago so I’m sure they have more research about it now.
My midwife and the nurse both have told me a bad case of the flu can cause miscarriage. I’ll be getting vaccinated. Xx
I plan on getting it with this one- I’m actually getting it twice, once now and then again in January. Got it with my previous one too. My feelings are, I don’t want the flu on a normal day, I definitely don’t want it while pregnant and can’t take anything.
Yup. Got the flu shot free at work. They gave me one that had no preservatives or whatevers added because it’s safer during pregnancy.
Still doing just fine. 🤗 better safe than sorry. The flu is worse than getting a flu shot
@mhbb3 I had the flu shot when i was younger and I had gotten the flu ! Every since I've been on my own, I haven't gotten the flu shot , and I haven't gotten sick either ! It's weird but my immune system has always been good !

@angikay This will sound ridiculous and probably is but ever since i stopped getting it I stopped getting the flu. Haven't had the flu in at least a decade. Thats when i stopped getting the shot. I'm not against vaccines and I vaccinate my kids. I just dont get that one for myself

@blessed2018w9, simply because you’ve never had an issue, doesn’t make my comment irrelevant or negative. It is a fact that they are not tested on pregnant women.
@angikay, they are not. We don’t know what could happen honestly, because the reports of side affects could be anything under the sun that may not even be related to the vaccine. I am not antivax. I am pro- educated decisions and researching each one. I delay some, decline some, and make sure others are received timely.

@angikay just dont listen to the negative comments there obviously not correct and irrelevant especially shouldn't be giving advice on something from a friends "perspective" like I said I've had it 9 times in the 3rd trimester all is well and I'm sure many others that do get it will tell you the same..those that dont? Well..that's there Prerogative🤷♀️ but people shouldn't be trying to scare woman with something that there no were near positive about even caused..its not recommended in the 1st or 2nd trimester and if so I have never heard it only in the 3rd...anything can happen weather you get it or not? Like I lost my daughter last year...it wasn't something I planned just happened and I never saw it coming. You can speak with your obgyn and even a pharmacist for more information and comfort if you like..but you know I'd never steer ya in the wrong direction 😘
@laniejay, I know,my thoughts exactly....I’ve actually researched vaccines and the risks for a pregnant woman just are not worth it to me...your baby is still developing and who knows what those toxins can do...I some ppl are ok from it but others are not and unfortunately you won’t know it until it’s too late ...

@angikay ...I've never heard of it causing a loss EVER in 20yrs of having kids and getting the shot every single pregnancy...definitely get it and dont stress on the negatives because it's a great idea to get the Tdap and flu shot..

@uglymombeautifulboy0910 I haven't had a flu shot in so long.. I usually don't get sick either , even when everyone else around me is sick, my immune system is awesome.. But I know pregnancy lowers your immune system to an extent, definetly don't want the flu while pregnant with her !

I didn't get the flu or tdap, the reason I didn't is because I didn't want it to harm my baby (so many people scared me). To ease your mind, I've met plenty of women who have and haven't and all their babies are healthy ☺

I did not get the flu shot. But because they forgot to offer it to me! I’m kinda glad I didn’t have to make this choice! I think I would have gotten it though just so she has the benefits from it.
I got my flu shot, whooping cough shot, and Tdap shot when I was 13 weeks pregnant with my son, they said it wasn't mandatory either but I still wanted them to give me the shots because I've have had vaccines done every year, I truly believe that if your body isn't used to the medicine in the shots you will get sick from them, I have never gotten sick from any shots because I've always got the shot when they were due, it all depends on you and your body
I just take care of my immune system and my kids with vitamins...we may get a cold but it’s never bad ...you can’t avoid getting sick but you can soften the blow...but not everybody likes to keep up with vitamins n shit like that tho so for those ppl the shot is the way to go...I personally have heard that you can miscarry from the TDAP and I’ve had it happen to my friend but I also know it can help you so it’s up to you hun ❤️.
Me myself I refuse the flu shot but I get the tdap shot .. the choice is yours hun whatever you prefer to do
I get mine every year and every pregnancy I'll be getting mine again with this pregnancy in October..I never have side effects and babes is fine. Not getting it if you was to get the flu can be dangerous for baby even fatal
Imo, I never get it. I did with my oldest 9 years ago and ended up sick anyways. There are different strains of the flu so the vaccine may prevent one but not the other.

@mommytobe2019 yes because you're more susceptible to getting sick while pregnant as pregnancy lowers the immune system. My next appointment is October 3rd.

When I was pregnant with my first born I got the flu shot and a week later I got sick. And I also got the Tdap also because he was born in October. And I plan to get both this time because baby is due in December

Flu shot Is anyone getting a flu shot? Every time I get one, I get the flu really bad. The years I don't get the shot, I am fine. My on strongly recommends I get one before the baby gets here. I didn't get one when my son was born. I'm torn. Don't know what I should do!!!
