the pavilions has the same measurements as the boulevard, size wise.

and it has the true side impact protection like the boulevard as well. the advocate is bulkier.

I don't like the way the radians look at all, but if I thought it was safer and we could fit it in our cars than we'd get it.

I don't like how there isn't much side impact protection. there is for bigger kids by their head. but not for babies.

I LOVE my boulevard. The pavilion just seems bulkier to me the boulevard has the side impact which I prefer over the marathon and my son is SO comfy in it. Looks like he's in a lazy boy when I go to get him out.

Where do you find carseat ratings?

Britax advocate. I am 5'9" and my hubby is 6'. We still have almost 2" between the seat an the carseat. Win win because its one of the top safety rated carseats. Im super picky about buying the safest carseat. It's pricey but can't put a price on safety IMO. :)

I just recently got my ford fusion back. I tried putting her in the middle but my wasn't having that she was to close to him for his liking.

@mkan I used to have that problem with my radian too and it took me six mos to realize that you can pull on the straps from behind the seat then pull on the single strap at the front of the seat and they'll tighten evenly. Hope that makes sense

@ malia- if the center seatbelt has the locking feature (most newer cars do) then almost any seat would work well. I used to drive an older neon (verrrry compact on the inside) so lo had to go behind my seat, he uses a radian with the angle adjuster, it was just comfortable for me and I'm 5'5".

It depends on what kind of car you drive? Is there any way you can put her in the middle or passenger seat? Buy buy baby will help you fit a seat into your vehicle to make sure its the right fit they will let you borrow a floor model to try to fit in your car as well.

Don't mean to hijack your tread, but does anyone know of a good car seat that can go behind a tall driver? I'm 6 foot and my daughter sits right behind me and I can't get her upright car seat in with me being able to safely reach the peddles. I'm either knees to my ears our the bottom of her seat isn't touch the seat.

What about the clek foonf or the graco size for me with the 8 reclining, they are the top rearfacing heights and weights on the market

thanks ladies!

I looked at the nextfit because I like the 9 positions. but I don't want a carseat that hasn't been on the market long. I want to give them a chance to do their recalls and work out any kinks they might have.

as for the radian, the back is to tall for our cars. I looked into it. if dd out grows the height of the Britax before I want her forward facing, maybe I'll have an SUV by then and can sell it and buy the radian :)

I bought the pavilion after trying it in a store. I really liked it in the store then when I actually got the seat home and was installing it in my car I decided it wasn't the seat for me. I couldn't get enough of a recline without the use of a pool noodle or rolled up towel which bothered me and I'm not a fan of the giant hugs pads that come on it. You can remove the for rear facing but they just don't seem comfortable to me. My daughter is 1 so she can't tell me.

I do plan on extended rear facing and so although britax are great seats I decided it wasn't the seat for me. The shell on the britax is outgrown quickly rear facing from everything I've read so I started looking for a different seat.

I heard about the Chicco Nextfit and from everything I read I was sold. They finally got it at a babies r is by me and after actually being able to put my dd in the seat I knew it was a much better choice for me. It Allows for my daughter to rear face till 40 lbs and forward till 65. It's soft and seems more comfortable than the pavilion. The biggest thing for me was that the nextfit offers 9 recline positions instead of just 3 which allowed me to get it installed in my car in a way I feel most comfortable without having to use a pool noodle or towel. The install for both seats is easy. I like that the nextfit has a bubble level and the pavilion just has a line that is supposed to be level to the ground.

All seats are tested the same so all seats that are available are safe. The higher the price just means there are more bells and whistles IMO. The nextfit is $299 at babies r is but you can use a 20% off coupon since chicco isn't on the list of exclusions. I got my seat for $240 which is a little less that the lowest price for the pavilion.

It all comes down to personal preference and what you can afford but if you like the pavilion take a look at the nextfit.

I have it and I love it! Lo no longer squirms while in his carseat. I love the click tight feature as well as the floor tether feature to reduce rebound. I would buy this seat again!

I love my diono but the button to unlatch is hard to press. My thumb actually hurts from pressing it. Also my daughter didnt fit till she was almost 8 lbs so I couldn't take her home from the hospital in it. Also when tightening the straps they constant are uneven in tightness.

We just bought the radian rxt, haven't started using it yet but couldn't pass it up after reading reviews, plus we caught a sale...I just wanted to chime in that a lot of places are having great car seat sales right now, I got an email from both amazon and diapers.com just this morning with big sales on Britax...good luck :)

We just recently purchased the Graco Smart Seat. It fits a baby from 5lbs-100lbs. We bought it for our 8 month old, and she loves it. We tried her in all the car seats at Target, and this seat she looked the most comfortable. It's safety rate is awesome too!

It's a great seat, if you're wanting to do extended rearfacing it does have a shorter shell. My favorite for the price of the britax would be the diono radian rxt it is one of the highest rearfacing shells on the market and goes rf 5-45lbs and then forward to 80. It also boosters until 120lbs .It is super narrow with lots of leg room and amazon has them for 220$ roughly, Also another one to look into is the graco size for me.

I have the Britax marathon 70 G3 as well and I love it. My son was switched at 7 months to this convertible carseat and he love it too. He can sit up now and I can adjust it if needed. I like the fact that I can loosen and tighten the straps every time he gets in or out and it's easy to do.

Look at amazon.com they have good prices on the carseats. That's where I got mine.

I have the Britax marathon 70-G3 and really like it. I'm not sure what the differences are. We put him in it for the first time at 2.5 weeks and he fit. The only thing that I don't like about it is that the button that unhooks the belts is difficult to push.

Convertible Car Seat- advice please ;)

Convertible Car Seat- advice please ;) Hey ladies ! Can any of you recommend a convertible car seat ? Davis is almost at the height limit for our infant seat so we need to purchase one ASAP. We drive a Jeep Patriot so it's a smaller suv and we would prefer a more compact car seat if possible. Which convertible car seat do you have, and how do you like it ?! Thanks ladies ! ;)
