Boyfriend parents
In need of some advice: My boyfriends mother would like to keep our little one overnight or while we go out. I am very uncomfortable with this. My boyfriend has a 3 year old son and they keep him sometimes or bring him when they come to visit. I've just observed some things that they do with him that makes me very uncomfortable. His mom has already mentioned he is getting to be too much for her. She mentioned she gives him nighttime cold medicine at night so he'll go to sleep. She FaceTimed us once saying I'm taking him back to his mother so I gave him some nighttime medicine so he'll sleep the car ride. He looked so out of it I was not happy seeing that. And she's also mentioned when josh (my boyfriend) was young she put it in his soppy cup. If she can't handle a 2/3 year old how could she handle a 4 month old? My boyfriend is upset I allow my mother to watch her while at work and occasionally if we have a date night. My parents are also younger than his. His dad is 75 and mother is 56. So I explained I can understand why little ones may be too much on them now but they also have to understand that.
Everybody, regardless of occupation or state, is technically a mandated reporter. If you are aware of child abuse/neglect/etc. and do not report, you can get into trouble. I would most definatley call CPS. You can do it annonymously. Maybe you can talk with your boyfriend about allowing his parents to have your child for very short periods of time with very strict guidlines to the point that if they break a rule, they lose the option of being a caregiver. Maybe you can start off slowly with them coming to your home to care for your child while you clean the house or something? Communication is key. Express your concerns to your boyfriend and his parents and let them know the consequences for not following your directions.
His mother lives in Georgia, I'm not sure if she knows they're currently in and out of court to try and get custody rights worked out.
Yes I was very shocked. His parents live in Florida and his ex lives in Georgia so the times he is unable to get his son they get him which is about once a month. Or they bring him when they come to visit. So they do not have custody of him. But now he says he feels I'm favoring my family bc I won't let his watch our little one
So my ex went to court and filed for visitation rights. I was served last week. I am not comfortable with our daughter being around him alone nor his mother which he lives with. I have proof of him asking me to take his drug test for his job for him in text messages and him texting me he was too high to drive and get our daughter milk. Is that enough to show the judge? As far as his mother she watches his son quite often and told us she gives him nighttime medicine if she has problems getting hi...
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Three day old sandwich! *Update*
My ds daycare gave him a 3 day old sandwich! My DH accidentally left my son's lunchbox at school on Friday. On Monday, instead of giving him his new lunch, they gave him his lunch from Friday. A turkey and cheddar cheese sandwich! I'm so disgusted! I spoke to the director. I asked her why my 23 month old was handed that sandwich and who was supervising him that they didn't notice the cheese was hard and discolored. I also asked that they put any lunch boxes left...
So over this feeling!
Ever since I've had ds, OH and I have fought my mother on not wanting to give ds a dummy just cause we don't like them and find he self soothes. For the past three times my mother has had him, she has gone against our rule and given him a dummy and of course I spoke to her about it (that's all my knowledge on how many times she's done it). On Sunday we celebrated my stepfathers birthday and due to OH working I had to do it alone which isn't the thing that bothered me. The...
