Baby name rant
So my brothers girlfriend is pregnant also and 5 weeks ahead of me. I've always said that if I have a girl I want to name her Nahla or Gianna. Well they found out today they're having a girl. What did she say they're going to name the baby..... Nahla
Yea same spelling and everything. Me, my brother, and sister are extremely close. Didn't think it'd be a problem to share it with them. My parents and those two were the only people to know. For as long as I can remember he's always wanted to name his girl Peyton and now all of a sudden they decide on Nahla.
Then it's your brothers fault and if you have a girl you should either try talking to her and let her know that your heart was set on that name and see if she will change it or just name your baby girl that anyhow....
I'm having a boy and have only told a select few his name...but still haven't said a word about our girl name...we plan on another so we don't want any one getting any ideas ?
I dont blame you...When I was pregnant with my 3rd, I said if it was a girl I wanted Isabella. My then sister in law was also pregnant but i was further along. I found out I was having another boy. A few weeks later she found out she was having a girl...she named her Isabel. I was so mad...because then o couldn't use Isabella if I'd later have a girl.
When I was pregnant with my first, my husband's step sister was pregnant with her third. At the beginning of our pregnancy, my husband was trying to tell everyone what two names we picked out (including his step sister). When we found out it was a girl, I told everyone the girl name and she got mad at me and said I stole her name. I reminded her that my husband had went around telling everyone the names and that I made up my daughter's name by adding my middle name to a common name. In the end, she had a boy, so it didn't matter. I don't tell people names because people will take them, but my husband can't keep his mouth shut. Lol
I had a similar situation with this woman I was briefly friends with. We both had sons that were a month apart so we hung out a lot so they could play. I told her the story of how my husband and I came up with baby names on one of our earlier dates before we were even engaged. Avery for a boy and Lilly Marie for a girl. Fast forward 6 months and we both find out we were pregnant. She instantly announced on FB that if it's a girl she's going to name her Lilly Marie because it came to her in a dream. I was so angry (partially pregnant hormones). Well we both find out we were having girls and I had already moved away (we are a military family). I gave birth first and of course we named her Lilly Marie and she lost it saying I stole the name from her. I felt bad for her because I showed her the e-mail of years before where my husband and I were about to get married and he said he couldn't wait to have our little Avery and Lilly together and it was dated and everything. She blocked me and acted really salty about it. Oh well.
I'm sorry, but this is exactly why I don't share names, even with strangers on these posts. If it would anger you that someone else used it, then keep it to yourself. I was happy to "name" my niece for my sister, sorta speak. She asked me what girl names my hubby and I thought of during our pregnancy (we ended up having a boy) and I told her that I don't share names, but there was one name I loved and hubby hated, so I wouldn't get the chance to use it. I told her it, and she loved it and used it. And I'm completely fine with that. But if I had told her a name we wanted to use, and she used it, I would have been very upset.
I feel like this happens quite often: which is a reason why I'm not telling anyone our names this time around. My first pregnancy I shared that I liked the name hunter and it was nearly my sons name(we picked Scott instead). My sister in January named one of her twins hunter! I was a bit taken a back. Could she not remember that I liked that name and may want to still use it?
I'd have an open conversation with her. Let her know it bothers you.
I've never talked to hear about these names before. Only people that knew were my boyfriend, and immediate family. Including my brother
Not wrong. I had a miscarriage last may after we had names picked out and this year in may my brother had a girl and names her addilyn which is almost our girl name choice royally angered me. Now we have decided to use the girl name (addiliah) even though they will share a nickname.

Girl names that start with A
Hi ladies! What are some of your favorite "A" names for girls? Hub and I decided that we wanted baby girls initials to spell ACT. And we like the middle name Camila but I can't decide on what A names to sound good with it. Please help!
