@prettyjazz98, well I had back labor it feels like a dull period ache that takes your breath and makes you feel like you have to poop

I chose to go natural. The only thing that kept me going was focusing on BREATHING. I took a birthing class and they teach you a special breathing technique. The moment I strayed away from focusing on that breathing I had a total panic attack. Thank goodness my mom was by my side and helped get me back into the breathing 😂 I know it sounds simple and stupid but I swear breathing right will be the key to a successful unmediated birth. For me anyway lol
Prepare your self as much as possible . You have to know what your getting into before you can really be able to pull it off . So watch ‘the business of giving birth ‘ talks allot about doctors and how they will try and force you into more interventions that are unnecessary . Laying down is the worst position to have a baby in . So you really don’t want the epidural . Read “ina mays guide to giving birth “ theirs also birthing education classes ! Seriously recommend . They go over how to breathe and move in different parts of labor

I didn’t know I was having contractions either until they broke my water at 6 cm and maaaan everything changed like clockwork still I was determined to do it w/o meds, I had to be put on Oxygen and I had to get a shot to slow the contractions because they were putting my baby in stress. But I dilated from 6 to 10 within a hr so pretty quickly and I pushed for 10 minutes and she was here best thing ever I would do it all over again

I got through it by shear will and my stubborn refusal to have to tell people I failed at my goal (this is a personal feeling and not applicable for other women).
That and I know epidurals increase liklihood of c-section and I WAS NOT missing my chance at a vbac

Well at first I didn’t even know I was having the real deal contractions, went into my 36 week checkup and was already 6/7 cm dilated. Was admitted then dilated on my own the rest of the day but my water just wasn’t gonna break so around 3 am the next morning the had a resident dr come in and hooked up some pitocin and broke my water it was painful then but not unbearable they just wouldn’t let me push or anything til my dr got there and not pushing was the hardest part but he got there and it was maybe 5-10 minutes of pushing then my daughter was born.

But I didn’t have to push for long so my advice isn’t super helpful

I got the epidural with my first and had her naturally. With my second she came so fast I didn't have time to get an epidural & had her naturally also. Woman are amazing. Our bodies are meant to do it. It really isn't that bad. The epidural helped so much! But going completely natural the 2 nd time was amazing, painful but amazing.

For me it was just about breathing and staying focused. It's easy to panic and get worked up, but all that does is make things more complicated. I went all natural and had no tearing or anything. My recovery was a breeze and honestly I really enjoyed having my daughter so much. Being in labor was painful, but it was also oddly calming. I didn't even have an IV hooked up to me or anything haha. Another thing that I experienced although it could've been the hospital I was at. The Dr/nurses were more distracting than they were helpful. They actually told me don't push it's too early you'll tear etc. But I felt that it was time and I listened to my body. My daughter was out in 2-3 long pushes and as I said I had no tearing.

I went natural with my 3rd child, I didn't have a choice though but honestly it wasn't that bad and with my other two that I got an epidural with messed my back up pretty bad. I'm now pregnant with my 4th and I plan on going natural with this baby as well.

Went natural with my two youngest sons not by choice and OUCH but breathing through the contractions works. With my third son they got the tape on my back and were about to start the process they were waiting for blood results but in that 20 min wait my son was born. To me the pushing on the stomach hurt more afterwards then the labor.
