Anybody know what it’s like at the Ronald McDonald house the offered me to stay there while my baby get better
Now I’m excited I can’t wait to go just happy I won’t be too far from baby
My son was in the NICU for 3 months. The last month he was over 4 hours away in a different NICU. I stayed at the Ronald McDonald house while he was there.
You can stay up to 30 days.
The one I was at was wonderful. They had a washer and dryer to use. You had your own bathroom/shower kinda like being in a hotel room. There was a play room if you had kids. They made dinner every night. The only thing I didn't like was I couldn't have food or drinks in the room. But I spent most of my time at the hospital.
The people that ran it were very loving and sweet.
I did have to sign in and out whenever I left. Idk if that's the way it is at every one or not. Ours was in a bad neighborhood so they could have just done that to keep an eye on people to make sure that they were still safe.
I used to donate a lot of our gently used toys and books to them. It's a very nice organization. They work hard to support families during a very stressful time.
When i was younger my familys church group cooked dinner there and brought santa and presents for the children that stayed their with their parents. I was before teens so i played in the basement playroom with other kids lol but it was clean like a motel nice stuff. Id def stay there if need be.
I'd definitely give it a chance. It'll save you money since you won't have to stay at a hotel and they are nice and well taken care of. The beds are pretty nice. I'd take the opportunity. And I hope your baby gets better soon.
