Has anyone had a child who has both a lip and a tongue tie and has trouble latching? I’ve been pumping when my breasts…

I had my sons tongue tie clipped in the ENT’s office at 6-7 weeks. They did it while he was laying on me and it only took a second. I nursed him immediately after and he was fine. I hadn’t associated it with difficulty breastfeeding, as his latch was okay, but each feeding was taking 40 minutes and that didn’t include the diaper change break in the middle. I used an app to track feeding length, sides, etc and most days I was nursing for 8 hours a day! After the tongue tie was clipped i saw a dramatic improvement as each nursing session was cut in half and only about 20 minutes. I was so relieved, my poor nipples got a much needed break, and I feel like it helped my son get the nutrition he needed when he hit the 8 week growth spurt shortly after.

My son had both. It wasn't discovered until he was 3 months old. We went to a pediatric ENT and had his tongue tie clipped. He was away from me for 10 minutes and then latched perfectly as soon as it was over. He busted his lip tie on his own at 3 years old when he tripped and fell on a tile floor.
