I didn’t know that Tdap was recommended at 28 weeks. I’ve never gotten vaccinated before with my other pregnancies . Anyone else know this?
@noahsmama, They just gave it to me didn’t ask if I wanted it or not.
@lovinglife4, they just gave it to me with and told me I had to have it.
@melissa_luv228, they just gave it to me they didn’t ask if I wanted it or to wait or anything.
@cali-girl09, I wasn’t offered they just gave it to me
I was offered it and it was up to me
Yep they just started recommending this a couple yrs ago. I got mine at my last appt. Pertussis is so dangerous to newborns!!
@juliam27 yeah, it's kind of a new thing. Honestly, you don't have to get it if you don't want to. Your baby will be fine without it.
This is a relatively new offering. Previously, it was recommended that everyone around the baby be vaccinated against it, but they realized that it didn’t offer as much protection as supposed. FYI - the vaccine doesn’t prevent the illness it just minimizes the effects of the illness. Also, think twice before getting the vaccine as the pamphlet included with the vaccine reads it is not recommended for pregnant women as it has not been tested on pregnant women. I declined the vaccine as I don’t want to be a guinea pig.
@preciouslove, @noahsmama, I haven’t received it before so this is my first time. None of my past doctors gave it to me.
It's apparently suppose to keep your baby safe from whooping cough after birth.
It was recommended after I had my son. I didn't get in my pregnancy because my doctor never mentioned it.
It was offered to me at 30 weeks. My Dr said it passes on to the baby so he's protected.

Did you know that Similac is short for "similar to lactation"?

Until u know what another parent is going through, dont judge.cause if they didn't need the money, they wouldn't sell the food. U just never know another person situation.

In case you needed to know!
@juliam27, FYI - I will tell you what nobody told me with my first baby. Healthcare decisions are ALWAYS yours to make. Nobody can force you one way or the other. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and research the doctors recommendations. Healthcare is constantly changing as new information surfaces so be an advocate for yourself and your baby. :). I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy.
