How do you get your spouse to be responsible with money? We have separate accounts and I get part of his paycheck, because he makes more than I do, and the agreement was for me to manage home expenses. I feel we encounter the same issue every month, where I pay most of the Bills and still i'll have to give him money for his own expenses/bills/loans. Often times leaving me empty handed. I dont mind doing this but I can't help but wonder what does he do all month with his money? I sacrifice and plan in order to avoid debt and I feel he just wastes his money. Now with baby on the way and thinking about being a SAHM after, I'm afraid we will not make ends meet.
When we first did any sort of combined finances we both kept separate accounts that our paychecks went into and then we had a joint account where all of our bills were paid out of. We each contributed a set amount to the joint account. The joint account had a budget attached to a It for bills, groceries, gas as well as savings and then what was in our individual accounts was for us to spend as we pleased as fun money. My husband always contributed more to the joint account because he makes more than me.
@bigmama18 @expectinggreatness having a join account makes me so nervous. Having to pay at a store or a bill and getting the 'there's no available funds' 😶 I tried to convince him to use an app but he's too much of a conspiracy theorist. I get tired of nagging him and keeping him in check but it seems to work. Just makes me feel like I'm his mom or something ugh
Maybe try joint account and create a budget together . You can even predetermine a weekly allowance amount or fast food amount etc..My husband and I use an app called YNAB (you need a budget ) .it allows you to enter all of your expenses and your income and you can project how much money you will have saved each month if you stick to the plan. Maybe seeing that will help inspire him to make better decisions with money and sometimes without having a plan you can spend more carelessly. My husband is more of a budgeter than I am but seeing him use the app helped inspired me to do better because I saw how much money was being wasted. We have separate accounts but it’s because he does not want to see the money I spend LOL ...we both work
Why don’t you get a joint account so you can monitor the money and pin point where the money is being spent so you can budget together.
My mans the more responsible one when it comes to money . I can be responsible with it but I like to shop if I know I have the money to do so when I go to the stores
@kendrab its funny because we spent a whole weekend breaking down his expenses and made a whole plan (wrote it in a freaking white board in the kitchen) and is like it never happen 😤 it just frustrates me
My bf had alot of issues of spending his money wrecklessly, gambling, pointless eating out alot, just the useless stuff, so i took how much he makes from his paycheck, and for 3 months we wrote where his money was going, and it really changed his views on his money wasting habbits, not saying your man will do the same, but just a suggestion made my man cut out gambling and alot of take out when he saw how much he was loosing on it!
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Why can't other mom's just be there for other mom's and work together and help each other not bash other mom's because when other mom's bash other mom's it makes us feel like we aren't doing a good job at least that's how I feel when I get bashed.
how do I get Joseph to understand not saving rent money in the shortest damn month of the year is not the way to go. he also has yet to pay this electric bill. 😩 but yet drives all of the state of Alabama to get his friends and weed. I cant. I swear.
Who else has financial issues within their relationship?? Or am I just lucky 🙄🙄
Not sure if I'm being just mean or what. But my SO used $160 from me this morning. I gave him my bank card because he needed $60 to get material for work. His boss was going to give it back to him at the end of the day. So instead of $60 he took out $160. Which I was a little pissed. (One of the reasons I just can't let him use my card. I have to go get the money from the atm myself if I'm giving it to him) then, to...
It’s no problem when my money is covering my husbands part of the bills but god forbid when it’s time for him to pay me back no only does he give me a little at a time when I wasn’t paying bills little at a time but he always try to play this guilt card talking about I got no money well I don’t got money either when I have to pay ur portion I don’t feel bad
@jrhynard25 got it. 👌 that's smart. I'll suggest that. Thanks
