Momma's I have a question, does your significant other help at all during the night or at night if they work? My SO thinks since he just got s job now he only has to help on the weekends? Is that right?

Oh no my husband helps. He doesn't have a choice. I'm not a single parent. You don't get to clock in and out of parenthood

Ha! My husband did in the beginning and if he was already up since he stays up late even on days he has work the next day. I ebf so there wasn’t much for him to do. To make it easier on myself we ended up co sleeping so no one really had to get up and shuffle around the room.

My husband would make the night bottles during the week and then go back to sleep while I fed her. Then on the weekends I would make him the night bottles for him to feed and I’d go back to sleep. I think it’s a fair compromise 🤷‍♀️

I breastfeed so he can’t really help but even when i had my first he was on formula and he still didn’t get up and help. I’m basically a single mom during the week because he works so much . On the weekends he helps with walker my older son . And we do every other night of putting my older son to bed so That helps a little

No my husband doesn’t but he works 10+ hours in the sun everyday so I wouldn’t want him to wake up anyway.

when he gets home from work, he’s on kid duty and gets all the girls ready for bed.

My husband is usually gone by 1230-1am, so no. However, he's great.. The couple times Elijah has woke up while he was still here, he'd take care of feeding him before he headed out the door. If he hears him being extra fussy, he'll still get up to see if he can help. & of course on his days off, we take turns & I always get to sleep as late as I want.

Mine helps on the weekend. Hs works a second shift job 3-12 and somedays he goes in early or stays late. But on his days off (normally just Sunday) he has the baby taking care of him practically all day. He did use to wake up abd help when Theo wasn't sleeping through the night but hosntely ita just easier for me to do it myself. They play way to much

I breastfed so my husband couldn’t really help. But he would get up and bring me a drink when I asked or go grab a new package of wipes from the other room.

My husband doesn’t he is usually gone by 3:30-4am and that’s about the second time she wakes up to eat so he is getting ready I am the only one who gets up with her since he has been back to work. With my son he worked nights so I also did that by myself except for weekends.

In the first couple months he did, he would get our son out of the cradle and do diaper change and bring them to me for breast feeding. I told him not to anymore, he has to leave for work at 4:30am, I don’t need him falling asleep at the wheel. I don’t mind, he helps out a lot during the day when he’s home and on weekends.

My husband doesn’t get up with Eliana, but he does get up with Josiah to give him a bottle and change him when he wakes up... more than he used to do... I used to do it all alone!

Yup that's what my husband said to me to. He only help a few times the first couple weeks. Now it's been all me. And I have twins. So think about how hard that is in the middle of the night when you are taking care of two at the same time alone. And it sucks, I can't even go to work anymore because we don't have a lot of help and my husband said when you can get a job making what I make or more then you can go back to work.

When my baby was little and woke up during the night we would switch days to who had to wake up with her. I wake up one day then he wakes up the next and so on. And when he’s home from work he would take care of the baby. Now he’s a truck driver and only is home on the weekend so that’s his days with being with the baby so he feeds her changes her plays with her stays with her in the house while I go grocery shopping etc.

I made mine get up with me lol. Even when he had to go to work at 5am he still got up and made bottles and stayed up with me to keep me company. But when it got closer to when he had to get up I let him sleep. But he didn’t have a choice but to get up cause I didn’t make her by myself.

My boyfriend hasn’t changed ONE diaper ever and my son is 9 months old. He hasn’t fed him in about 5 months, he doesn’t bath him and hes never been left alone with him and he doesn’t even wake up during the night to help with him. He MAYBE washes the bottles at night if it’s a good day and I’m confused as to how bc I’m a woman IM supposed to do all that by myself?? lmfao ya no.

Am I wrong to be upset? Last night I was running a fever, weak, tired, sore, my left boob feels like it got used as a punching bag. I asked my husband to call out of work today to help me with the kid so I could get some rest. He went to work. I texted him this morning. Part of me thinks I mean. The other part of me thinks I was fine for saying that because he should've stayed home with us.

1
ekko I see both sides. However, if you both work and him taking off one day isn’t going
2sweetie I’ve never asked my husband to take a day off when I’m sick. I just deal with
boymama523 He gets the choice to call off if he’s overwhelmed or sick. You (all us mommas) don’t.
