Did any mommas shop at Nine West?
If so, how did you take the news that we had to shut down every location and liquidate everything in a month?
It was over the weekend in April, that we were told on Monday and Tuesday that we were doing inventory, and reopen on Wednesday. Monday rolls around and tells us we need to shut our store down by Tuesday night.
I was personally screwed over by my Store manager. I was opening, my other key holder had my key, cause she lost hers and I’m being forced to share keys with her. I went to get it Monday before I head into work (I worked at Five Below as well), but they all left before 4. My boss took the extension cord from the box that was very high, a few feet away from the ceiling. I had to climb up there, see what the problem was. I was freaking out, calling the district manager who was coming to help me close down the store.
On Tuesday morning, my boss was supposed to come in 30 mins before me. Nothing was turned on but the back rooms light was on and I could see the back door. I looked at the back door, noticed something was off. So I went through the mall hallway and to my back door, it was unlocked. And that’s when I discovered we didn’t have internet AT ALL. So I’m freakin our and check the back box and it was all the way opened and cord was gone. It took me two hours to find a spare extension cord and took me 30 mins to hook everything back up. And lemme tell you I ran everything that day, and even sent home two girls cause they weren’t doing shit but were there to get the hours.
But that’s the day I shut down my store within 16 hours. I only had two cigarette breaks, and ate lunch.
I also found out I was only hired cause corporate told them they need at least one white person working there so we can have diversity.
