How did you mommies prepare to be a mommy? Like did you read stuff or did it just come naturally for you? Because I have no idea what I’m doing and I’m so nervous

I've been babysitting since the age of 10 and worked in daycare, so I had a lot of experience plus CPR training.

I was still in the dark about a shitload of things lol. I'm going to have my 3rd in November and I'm still nervous.

My suggestion is to read whatever you can, but DEFINITELY get CPR training. The rest, you kinda just learn as you go along. Every kid is different and it's about learning their personality and working with that.

I just went with it as well, I had babysat before so I knew a little bit of what I was doing the rest just kind of came to me as time went on. You have instincts that you should trust but reading and getting support/advice from others can help.

I started raising kids when I was 9 y/o so I had plenty of practice before I had my son, my aunt wasn’t a very good mother she would just drop her daughter off to us for months and months at a time and then come back and get her for a week or two and then bring her back to us, she also has two boys but she didn’t drop them off and leave them as much as she did her daughter but they still stayed with us for a few months and then they’d come and get them, her daughter was like my own child she called me mom and everything people thought she was my daughter for the longest time because we had her so much.

Ask questions. Do not be afraid to sound stupid bc every kid is different and kids do a lot of weird stuff. You've got this, mama!

I've read a fair amount, but mostly ask my doc if I'm not sure about something.

Just kinda going with the flow, because I have no idea what my baby will be like. 🤷🏻 seems to be going well. Lol

I’m better at just going with it. Every baby is so different, that comparing them to the books and to other kids just isn’t fair for anyone.

Мама двоих (3 года, 6 лет), ждёт третьего

It just came naturally (I was 19) but reading books won’t hurt.

I read a lot to get ideas but I mainly do what feels right.

I google stuff when I have a question. But not like stuff that will scare me but like “since breast milk takes a few days to come in what does my baby eat” and I’d get my answer. If I have questions about what’s going on with me or baby I’ll mention it on here to see if I should worry. I also know CPR and have babysat A LOT growing up and even my niece and nephews. I know I think I’m ready to be a mom but we will see what happens when he’s actually here!
