Im stuck between wanting to go to school to be an infant daycare teacher or a preschool teacher decisions decisions 😥
@proudmommyoftwo_ substituting is fun and it's great practice too. Gives you real life feeling of how being in a classroom flows.
@pettybetty Yes girl experience goes along way I swear
@proudmommyoftwo_ I think that sounds like a great plan. Get all the experience and extra training you can. Not only will it make you a better teacher, it will get you better pay.
@pettybetty Right im going to look into the CDA training as well as the effective teacher training course as well so I can be a substitute teacher and gain experience that way as well. Since im coming in with no type of experience working with kids im going to need all the experience i can get and start from somewhere ya know lol
@proudmommyoftwo_ It was definitely worth it. I am now in the process of opening my own in home day care, focussing on toddler/preschool age children and following a state approved education based curriculum. It's really my passion. I love the preschool age. They are just so curious and so accepting to all sorts of information. Learning is still fun at that age. 😍😍
@pettybetty Thats not that bad at all girl i got to do something with my life man 😭
@proudmommyoftwo_ It took me a little over a year to complete my CDA.
@proudmommyoftwo_ 2 years for my associates. That included my required general studies courses as well.
@pettybetty Omg yes that's what im trying to get how long did it take you to get your degree?
@proudmommyoftwo_ I'm in Louisiana, so it's different here I'm sure. I have a degree in early childhood education. I worked as a preschool teacher. Pre-k 3 is what I taught. I did not have to have anything but my CDA for the job. My degree just got me a higher pay rate.
@owenjacesmama People were telling me you get paid alot more being a preschool teacher than you would a daycare worker of course im not in it for the money lol but I would have to actually have some type of degree for preschool teaching
@owenjacesmama Yes girl I cant wait to begin this journey im trying to see when registration and stuff is but so far ain't nothing popping up.
That's all you should need. I was a "floater" but did more than half the teachers. I'm in the military now & I'd take a pay cut just to go back to that job. So rewarding
@owenjacesmama Yeah I live in Fayetteville and here they want you to have your daycare credentials 1&2
Most places you need basic teaching certificates as well as cpr. If I had to choose I'd do preschool. I worked at a daycare and switched between infants and preschool and the preschoolers we're more fun and we're so sweet
@tiffanyf True I think i would have to have some type of certificate or something I guess it all depends on witch state you live in.
A lot of infant daycare teachers don’t need any type of college degree by me , look on the app indeed
Florida has approved arming teachers
And there goes that final nail in the decision to homeschool my kids ? ??♀️
Teachers - can I just say
I'm not overpaid thank you!

🤔Decisions....Decisions🤔

@pettybetty Yes girl and that's exactly what I need is to get a feel of it first make sure its something I want to do.
