@mother.of.2, omg I cannot watch any documentary that has to do with purchasing guns. It’s so scary how easy it can be. My neighbor died of a drug over dose last week. While the police were investigating they removed SIX rifles from his home. And they were ALL legal. Wtf why is this man allowed that many fire arms.

@cbelias060594 exactly, on Fox they had a segment where this underage teen went to different gun stores and try to buy guns and none of them would allow it except for at a gun convention this guy just let him buy a gun without any ID or anything. People are mostly the problem, handing them guns ain't good for nobody.

Also teachers do not even have all the resources they need to teach our children which is there job (they are called teachers for a reason) so using part of the bored of education’s budget for guns and taking even more away from their education. Not a big fan of that either.

All I’m going to say is I don’t believe adding more guns fixes any gun violence problems. Police officers that are here to protect miss use guns so I don’t think it would be impossible for a teacher to do the same. Also there are so many cases where a child finds a gun and shoots themselves or someone else. I say stricter gun laws that’s obviously America’s problem.

@melissa_luv228 yeah in high school we had one lockdown and our school did have bullet proof glass windows but I guess the shooter shot too close to the glass that it actually chipped it but still very effective it didn't get through at all

This argument could go.on and on. Evil people find a way to be evil. Period. I have a concealed carry license and have a pistol for personal protection as well as other weapons at home. We train our kids proper safety and how to use them. I feel like schools should have more security, maybe veterans or campus police? More protection as in bullet proof doors/Windows, safe rooms etc.

@mother.of.2, lol I mean it may deter slightly but just not enough. I went to a terrible school for one year that had them. Knives and guns were still brought into the school daily! Definitely don't think teachers should have to carry. I think more law enforcement within the schools is needed before giving that responsibility to teachers. Teachers don't get paid enough to begin with! And our mental health system across the country is shit too.

I didn't say I was for arming teachers either. I just simply said metal detectors do nothing, they are basically decoration.

So your answer to fixing gun violence isn’t arming someone to protect possibly your child, but to put up a metal detector ? Who’s paying for this ? Could we arm are teachers and use metal detectors ? Please both sides. Personally, I always carry. Especially now that I’ve got a sweet little person to protect. When my sweet little person goes to school (IF he does) he deserves to still be protected..

@kaytibug2009 oh yes but the ones they armed freaking set the gun off in class and nothing was going on, I believe a student got hurt also.

@fuhgeddaboudit yea that's what the guy was saying he was gonna do, also teach kids to barricade the doors and a class on safety or something like that but geeze, that's the smartest thing that anyone has as far as solutions. It may not catch everything because there's a flaw in everything but it's a start and will damn well catch the big guns they been using.

Yeah metal detectors don't work well. Plus arming the right teachers can at least save lives. Plus everyone reacts under stress... that's why a shooting isn't a normal thing. Even cops react under stress. I had a teacher save my classes life because they shot the shooter at my high school. I'm glad my teacher was armed and I will always say yes to training and arming the right teachers!
