okay does enrollment start this soon for everybody

So since I was secluded from the fam as to not get them sick yesterday I decided to look up the dates for enrollment of the 18-19 school year. Here I was thinking I was ahead of the ball. But apparently the Charter School District we're in have already had open house and enrollment has already started for Pre-K.. since I'm new to this does everybody's do it this early? Enrollment has been open for 2 weeks so now it's a rush to get DD's paperwork in and pray they still have a spot open. I might call the school tomorrow to even make sure I'm not wasting my time filling out the application. I'm just baffled it started super early. Well if she can't get in there this year at least I know better for kindergarten

My son starts kindergarten in a month. I went to the schools website to try to find a list of supplies they need. One thing is headphones for iPad...I hate that schools are starting to do this!!!! A lot of kids already have an iPad or kindle or some sort of technology at home, school should be a break from it! Also why would you give a 6 year old an iPad & expect it to be in the same exact condition at the end of the year!?! Does your kids school have iPads?

Beginning/ lenght of school year? I'm just wondering this out of curiosity. I see here that there are great discrepancies in the date of the start of the school year (from late July to September).
