Inducing a period

For those that don't get a period, can you refresh my memory on what the protocol is? Is prometrium given for 5 days and then a period starts after stopping it? I need to redo my cd 3 bloodwork because it's been a while and I'll need it done before my egg retrieval. I've somehow starting blocking all this misery from my mind. Thanks!!
