Ask your pharmacist for an over the counter mouth wash - I forget what it's called but the liquid is red I believe it starts with an "S". You rinse with it several times a day and it clears them up. GL

My mom told me to get Lysine (I also get bad fever blisters). I put it on the grocery list but hubby didn't pick it up for me! :-( I can't complain when he forgets stuff though because he always goes for me! :-) Looks like I will be heading to the store tomorrow.

also for shingles, which i got because my immune system was so low due to yeating soo many acidic foods. be aware that your kanker sores can be aggrivated by the foods you eat and youd be, suprosed at what you should avoid during an outbreak. google food high in lysine and dodge the ones that dont for a while. i cant eat peanut butter or anything peanuts now because i developed an alergy yo it. sucks to be me lol almond butter will do. gl!

lysine is the only way to go, my doc lets me take a 500mg with my regular prenatals. it is just an amino acid that takes your body from being in an acidic mode to more, alkaline. look it up, but it will work wonder.

there is a natural supplement called Lysine. Works wonders for me. Can be used for cold sores as well.

kanka works pretty good. I used to eat a lot of spicy food and lemon and citrus foods and thats what caused mine. one cut down a lot and I haven't gotten any. also I would use salt and baking soda and it burns like a betch but it helps. just not as fast as kanka. and if you use kanka make sure you let it dry and if you can help it don't let it get wet at all.

I get them, I also have ulcerative colitis. I don't know if that's why or just a coincidence though

I get them a lot cause of my Lupus. My mouth will be full of them. the warm salt water does help and I use the orajel to numb them. Hope they go away for you!

Are you stressed? I used to get them real bad in the back of my throat where I had my tonsils removed.. I haven't for a long time now though. It could also be because of hormones or stress that's what my Dr said when I went in for my canker sores. I thought I had herpes hahahha nope just canker sores.

@nichole - I do have stomach issues. They cleared up when I was pregnant but they are back now full force! No more fried anything, greasy foods, I have to watch my dairy intake, no more tomato products. :-(

I read that they can be a symptom of Crohns disease, but I've never been tested.
