Tell me about....
Having your tubes tied. How did they do it? How was recovery? Have you gotten pregnant afterwards? DH and I have decided it's best if we don't have anymore. Though it makes me sad it's what's best. DS has tons of health problems, and I don't think we could handle another child.
I had my baby on Monday and I got my tubes completely removed. My body can't handle any type of accidental pregnancy. My bleeding has already subsided a substantial amount. I feel a little bit of extra pain but nothing crazy. I had a c section so that may also have to do with not feeling anything. But I'm happy and excited to get back to being romantic without worrying.
Do you regret your decision? I wanna make sure I make the best decision for my family. I have an IUD right now but I just don't think it's a good idea for us to have anymore. DH and I have been discussing this for almost a year now and we are still with the same decision of not having anymore.
My tubes were removed the morning after I had baby 4. Apparently recent research reveals cervical cancer may start in the tubes, so my doc recommended removal over the typical jobs. She went in through my belly button, and my incision went maybe halfway around it. I was "glued" shut. I was surprised at how sore I was. I struggled with sore stomach muscles for a couple weeks. It was the only baby delivery that I actually used any pain meds. Getting up and down, even laughing hurt. But it was worth it. Still not pregnant 7 mo later. And with no tubes, I'm sure not concerned there.
Actually with my insurance it's cheaper for me to get my tubes tied than for my husband to have a vasectomy. My insurance covers a tubal 100% and only 40% for vasectomy. Hormonal BC doesn't work well with me either. I've noticed since I got my mirena put in almost 2 years ago I'm all over the place. I seriously think I have a hormonal imbalance.
