Anyone in El Paso?!
DF and I are getting married next Saturday. We asked his parents for his birth certificate and they looked and said they don't have it. We don't have the money to fly to Texas to get it. Will they allow us to order it by phone or do you have to go in person to request it?! I'm a wreck! Help please

Locking your doors We are having a discussion on one of my birth boards from my older kids about locking doors and security alarms. There are many of us (me included) who do not lock our doors at home (I actually don't even have a deadbolt on my house and we don't lock it when we leave either), and others who think that's totally weird. So what do you do? Do you lock your doors? Do you think it's weird that people don't?

You can order online per the Texas vital records office website but standard processing shows as 10-15 business days ?

We need it to apply for our marriage license. ??? my state says a baptismal record can be used but the way they did his, the seal is only half way on it. We are going through his parents papers again.

I know in my state you can go right down and get a certified copy of it right there.

I'm in MA and my DF's birth certificate was in NY. We ordered his birth certificate online but it took almost a month to get it.

His mom kept telling us she would pull it out for us and never did. They are in ny also. It's a small wedding with 30 people, it can't be postponed.

You either have to pray you find it, go to Texas, or get legally married in 10 to 15 days

I'll do whatever it takes to at least get it here by Thursday. I would have him fly to El Paso to get it but the cheapest flight is 959.00 ?

I live in El Paso, but look on cheapoair.com for a ticket or call southwest airlines and see what their cheapest flight is. Back in my hometown we could go to the courthouse and have them print off a copy right there for a small fee.

My mom was born in El Paso and she ordered hers online. She lives in Missouri.

In nm you can go and get it in person right there if he has immediate family in texas i think that they could get and mail it to you??

My bc is in Texas and they don't do over night. The fastest they do it is 10-15 days

Good news is, a town in my county will accept his baptismal record and uncertified copy of birth certificate along with drivers license as proof for our marriage license! I brought everything with the exception of his license and she said it would work! Tomorrow we go to apply for it!

Such an easy fix. Dfs mom admitted to losing it. She is paying for a new birth certificate.
