7 months old and fully walking.

7 months old and fully walking.

At 7 months we are fully walking. How would I take her to a store or something though. I want her to experience walking in shoes cause she still sees them as this weird device so I want her out and about with us in public walking. Would I just hold her hand or get a leash. Is 7 months old too young to wear a leash? I have no idea how to convince a 7 month old to follow me instead of stop and look at everything. Obviously I'm not going to take my eyes off of her so I don't need to be judged that I even brought up the possibility of not holding her hand. I just want tips on making her stay with us or if I should just wait until she's older to let her stroll around the stores with us.

My daughter started walking at 8 months old wobbly but she would walk. By 10 months she was a pro. I would put baby moccs on her. Soft sole shoes are best at this age.

I'd just give them the freedom to roam but in public maintain using the cart or stroller. As soon as they learn they don't have to sit in the cart, they hate the cart.

@MustBeThursday it's definitely weird. I'm not used to her standing let alone walking. She looks so small waddling around. ?

Both our oldest walked at 7 months. We wore them and if it wasnt to busy where we were, we would let them walk in front of us. Getting them to wear tennis shoes was a different story. We invested in mox. Check them out on facebook. They are like slippers w rubber bottoms to protect babies feet, but as light as socks. They are perfect. Moxxy on facebook :)

Ds started walking at 9 months but I kept him in the soft crib shoes until after he turned 1. Hard shoes are not good for their developing feet. That must be amazing to see such a tiny baby walking around!

My son walked at 9 months. I just held him in public or he sat in the cart. He CAN walk but it's not easy to get a 9 month old baby to walk with you.

My daughter started walking at 8 months and I just put shoes on her all of the time until she was used to it. I held her hand most of the time and would let her walk at her own pace in front of me. Often in stores, she got tired pretty quickly, so I ended up picking her up or putting her in a buggy.

My daughter started walking at 7 months, we got her comfy shoes let her practice walking around the house in them. Then in public my husband would walk right beside her, she was too short to comfortably hold hands without throwing off her balance lol so he just stayed right beside her I didn't do the leash until around 9 months when she learned to run and I only used it if out alone. Try a few different things see what works for you and baby

@cmurphy oh. She's super busy. I can't even sit down anymore. I'm constantly chasing her around pulling her out of cupboards and stuff. She's crazy. I thought I had a bit longer before all of this but she sure showed me.

I think one of Mims' kids walked at 7 months, maybe she can give you some pointers. My lazy little guy didn't start walking all of the time until almost 18 months.

Maybe she can practice at a park?

Babies are little explorers.

For the most part I let my son explore. It's a big wide world for them, I just love seeing him get all excited over things I consider day to day things.

When it's time to move on I'll grab his hand and tell him it's time to go. If he won't listen I just pick him up until we are away from what ever he was distracted by.

I figure it will be hard to keep her from wandering away because there's so much to look at and get into. ??

She's really determined. She started army crawling, hand and feet and hand and knee crawling, sitting up and standing against furniture all within 2 weeks when she was just barely 5 months old. She stood up at 5 and a half months in the middle of the floor without holding anything and at 6 months started taking steps. Now she fully walks and climbs up on the couch and everything. Its really hard at this age because they understand very little so it's a little challenging but I want to encourage her walking as sometimes She's a tad wobbly so I figure strolling around Wal-Mart while picking up a couple things would be nice especially since she doesn't like being strapped in her car seat and she has a few difficulties sitting in a cart.

Sorry no tips, my 12 month old wanders away if I don't hold his hand.

My 6 month old isn't even crawling or sitting up. How the heck did you get her to walk so early?

I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
