The only thing I'd add would be a nipple cream and makeup remover/face wipes. Those first few days, when a shower is almost impossible, I kept a package of face wipes (the kind that don't need water, like baby wipes) near my bed so I could at least clean my face before bed or in the morning.

I do this too, but I bring it to the hospital after they deliver. I’ve also added a pair of leggings to mine.

I've done this for 4 people so far and it's been a HIT!! I've got lots of grateful tears haha I just know and understand that being a Mom to a newborn is exhausting and overwhelming at first (whether it's your first second or tenth) and I want to do whatever I can to take a little stress off you even though they're just small gestures. My husband's aunt brought me a container of nuts and a candle and some bath stuff when I had my first and I cried and cried because it was so sweet that she thought of me and that is how I started doing this for all the new moms around me. I hope it makes things easier for them once they're home?❤

Instead of restaurant gift card I would get pregnancy massage.

Maybe a gift card for a mani/pedi or the hair salon they like to go to?!? Maybe a coupon to offer to babysit so her and her husband can go out to dinner and u will babysit?!?

Also to add to the basket coconut oil if they are nursing!! I feel that worked better then lanolin. What about a nursing bra? Just some ideas i thought of

Extra underwear, like the granny kind. A massage gift card. Fruit bowl (I was starving after I had my son lol). A nice pair of sweats or gym suit to wear after she’s released. A comfortable hospital gown (I saw Etsy has some cute ones). Socks! Listerine, face wipes, icy hot (my body hurt afterwards and still hurts). That’s all I can think of for now lol.

@Heidi, the stool softener and lip balm is a good idea!! I remember my lips being sooooo dry from the hospital air!!

I would do the lactation tea but I strangely don't know a single soul in person who breastfeeds lol I'll add the lippy and stool softener to my list though. The drs at the hospital here away prescribe it when you leave the hospital but if I recall it was only about two doses which to me was nowhere near enough!! Lol thanks for the ideas! Love the letter board idea too, super cute and personal!

I just made one for my sister. I already got her a bunch of stuff for her shower, but I also made her a gift basket for labor/after delivery. I had a lot of the same things. A nice water bottle (I loved having ice cold water while I was in labor), sleep nursing bras, nipple balm, hair ties, snacks, stool softener, pads, lactation tea, hand sanitizer, unscented lotion (strong smells make me sick so I usually stay away from scented items), breast pads, lip balm, dermoplast, and a cute little letter board that says "Welcome Asher". I made her some frozen pads, but I'll bring those to her house since the hospital has them there. I think that's it, but that's what I can remember off the top of my head.
