Still struggling to adjust to 2 kids. Anyone else?
While it's definitely gotten easier, I still have a hard time juggling both kids. I feel like I'm only half a parent to each since neither ever gets my full attention. And when I'm doing something with one it never fails that the other needs me. It's like I'm failing both. DD#1 is going to be 18 months this week, and she's so loving with DD#2 and such a good helper, but I especially feel bad for her because I'm constant feeding, burping, and changing her little sister. I know it's going to get easier someday, but I wish I had a crystal ball to know when that day is going to be. Anyone else still having a hard time adjusting to 2?

Yes I definitely am. My 3 year old gets the short stick constantly and I feel so bad. Dad does most things for him, I can tell lately that he has grown super attached to him because of it and that he misses me. I've been trying to spend time with him every time I can put the baby down lately... he has been acting out and being really rough with the baby and I think it's because he's jealous ?

My 2 year old is so sweet all of the time with my 7 week old. He’s always trying to help. And I feel like I’m always telling him “hold on...not right now”. Makes me feel bad?

Yes. My two year old often tells me to put his brother in the swing so I can hold him. Last night he said "Baby Lucas is so noisy, put him to bed!" If only it were that easy lol I feel a lot of mom guilt.

I have 3 and the oldest definitely gets the short stuck between my 2 year old and 7 week old. The baby wants to constantly be held, so does my 2 year old and plus her tantrums. My 5 year old has been on and off sick with colds and I feel terrible not being able to attend to her like I used to. ?

I have 3 now as well. My twins were used to me spending every second with them. And now that dd is around they are acting out so badly because they miss me. It is so much harder on them than I thought it would be. And so much harder for me to deal with them.

this baby is #6 . . . . . Honestly did not make much of a difference to me. Only thing that I had to get accustomed to was the lack of sleep.

And now my 18 month old is sick with a cough and fever which wouldn't be so terrifying except the last time she got sick she gave it to the baby - leading to a hospital stay. I'm never having a baby in the winter months again! But at least this explains why she was in such a terrible mood the day that I posted this

The adjustment to two kids was really tough for me too. The adjustment to three has been a breeze compared. Just letting you know in case you had ever considered a third and this tough phase was scaring you away from it :)

Thanks, Kay! We always said we wanted 4, but honestly the last 2 months have made us question even having a third. I know one day we'll look back and say oh it wasn't that bad (like how I look back on labor haha) but right now I feel like such a failure. I really appreciate you sharing your experience with a third though! I just read your post about a 4th and that's super exciting!!!

It took me a long time to want a third baby because i was so overwhelmed with just two for so long! It’ll get better as baby gets bigger. I promise ??

I have two and I feel you!! It's way harder this time around and I also have a supply clingy momma's boy that is 23 months. He's been so used to me giving him a lot of attention that the transition has been tough for him. He spent the first 4 weeks saying "bye bye baby!" In hopes that she will go away! ?
I'm hoping once she gets a little older, he will be able to play with her. It's tough!
