My baby is so difficult ?
My baby is so difficult ?
I read all these posts on here about how other people's babies sleep for 4+ hours at night and go 3/4 hours between feedings and I don't know what I am doing wrong. My son is 5 weeks and sleeps at the very most 2 hours but lately I'm lucky to get 1 and he grunts and fusses sometimes while sleeping. Only will sleep in his rock n play or on his belly. Hates the swing. Hates the bouncer. Loves to be held and go in the carrier. Is ebf and still eats about every 2 hours. What am I doing wrong ?

I dont think you are doing anything wrong. All babies are different and have different habits or likes and dislikes. If you want your lo to sleep better i suggest looking into babywise, its a eat play sleep pattern that you can put into place on a loose schedule to get a routine going for your lo. I think its good to develop a routine early on so the baby knows what to expect but thats just me some moms are more go by their babies schedule...to each their own.

Nothing ! Sounds like a typical newborn. Your doing everything right sine people just have a easier time. My first was exactly the same as you described . Baby number 2 is proving slightly easier but I think that's more because I done it before and im more relaxed

My son was like this, up every 2 hrs. I was only getting 45min intervals of sleep, it was brutal. Things slowly got better. Now he is an AMAZING sleeper. He has been for over a year. Slowly your child will sleep longer and you will get more sleep. For now, try to nap when you can. Co-sleep if you have to/ feel comfortable. Or another option is to put baby in another room. I found my son was a loud sleeper and woke more often when he slept in the same room as me.

Nothing! Your baby is bonding with you and loves to be with you. My little guy is the same. If your EBFing your baby will want to eat more often. It helps your supply and helps them feel safe and secure. Mine is the same.
* Mine is currently sleeping on my feeding pillow on me. He hates being alone.

Try swaddling him! It works miracles with some babies.

Sounds like a normal new born to me...
Try not picking him up straight away when he fusses. Try and encourage him to settle himself. Not really controlled crying but just give him a minute. He might even fall back asleep.

Your not alone my twins are the same and i breastfeed. So every 2 to 3 hours at night. And during the day its 1.5 to 2 hrs. Mine are 8 wks old. I feel like they add another meal every day :(

Sounds pretty normal ?? all babies are different and also have different phases. I agree try to maybe let baby cry it out a little longer before picking them up, but overall it just takes time for them to get on a schedule that is similar to yours

I have the same thing my bub is very gassy and has reflux so he grunts from that . it's pretty hard work and tiring. He was doing really good a week ago. I'm hoping it passes. With feeding my midwife suggested offering one breast two or three times before the other so that baby gets the hind milk which I did and it worked until he became fussy. And she said if still hungry then offer other. But if doesn't have any express enough to be comfortable till next feed. I'm not sure of how you all feed but made sense to me I think lol.

Not a thing! Every baby is different. I was pleasantly surprised by my lil guy this time he's one of those 6+ night sleepers. However my 20 month old, who still gets up 2+ times at night, was not. He got up every 2 hours for the first 3 months. It was exhausting! Just know it does get better and think of it as bonding time.

Some people just get lucky I guess... Both of mine were this way, they just loved to be with momma 24/7.. so I'm prepared for it this time! It's sooo exhausting but try and enjoy it, once this precious time is done and gone, you'll miss it, I promise. Let the laundry sit, the dishes can wait, ignore phone calls, whatever you have to do to stay sane.

Thank you for the ideas and I'm glad to know that not everyone has it as easy as it seems. Little stinker just slept for 4.5 hours!! I'm sure it was just a fluke lol.
I guess I'm just getting worried about going back to work in a couple weeks and having to leave him with daddy.
