college mommies
How many classes are you taking this semester? How are you balancing school and giving enough attention to your los?
Im in grad school part time which means the most ill ever take is 2 classes at a time lol. This spring ill only be taking one. Thank goodness, i did 2 last fall and drowned in papers. I felt so guilty and like a bad mom, emotionally it took a toll on me so i decided to slow down and not worry about my graduation date so much.
Oh my gosh you are all super-mom's! Anything more than 3 is intimidating to me but here you all are, doing it!
I'm taking 6 classes a full course load and next semester I'm taking 7.
I make sure to use my time effeciently when I'm at school and I attend all my classes everyday, stay a little longer if I can. And when I get home I spend time with my daughter until she goes to bed. Then after she's in bed I spend 3-4 hours doing homework and assignments.
It's getting a little more difficult the closer I get to my due date for my 2nd lo but I've got a lot of support from my DH and my teachers so that makes it a lot easier.
I’ve got 3 kiddos and a SS that’s here a few times a month. I’m only taking 1 class this semester and 1 during the summer since I just had my 3DD. I’m going back full time in the fall (fingers crossed if I get accepted into the ADN program). It will be very hard but I’m so ready for my school years to be over. I’m too old for this ?
I am failing at being a college mom. It’s so hard to finish for me. I am only 16 credit hours away from a bachelors I’ve been pursuing little by little for almost 10 years now and I have to push it back ANOTHER semester because I can’t afford tuition. ?
It seems so unfair too because 12 of those 16 hours is an internship that counts as 12 credit hours despite the fact that there isn’t a single minute of classroom time NOR is the internship even affiliated with my school, it will have to be completely offsite AND I will have to find it myself. It makes no sense to have to pay my school to work for free for somewhere completely unaffiliated with them. Nonsense.
You mommies are awesome! You give me hope that i can take more each semester. It also depends on how many i can afford. I'm trying to do this without student loans as much as possible.
It's only the first week but one class hasn't taken up much of my time and it's an online class so i can do it any time if day. By my third semester I'd like to be taking no less than 3 classes from then on. And even summer express classes.
I’m taking five classes this semester. My little boy will be three weeks old when I go back next week. Two classes are online and the other three are on campus. I know it’ll be rough and I’ll be giving him less attention, but in the long run it’ll help our family out in the future. When I get home I’ll probably forget about all homework and just want to cuddle him all night. Hopefully I can manage a baby and school because I only have a year left and it’d be awful to drop out so close to being done.
I’m taking a twice weekly class (4-750pm) and one online. My 6 yr old son just told his school counselor that he’s sad that I’m always tired or spending more time with 2.5 yr old daughter. So my parents are helping me plan some ‘dates’ for just the two of us and they’ll keep my daughter. I also work M-Th, either until 445 or I need to leave for class.
