Scheduled C Section

For everyone who has had or having a scheduled csection, what do you do about visitors? Did you feel up to visitors right away or did you have them wait to come visit? I am FTM having scheduled Csection on Feb 8th and our families are already taking off of work and friends are making plans to come visit. I'm already worried about having all those visitors right after coming out of recovery!! Any suggestions?!

My section is scheduled for noon and ive asked the family to come at 6pm.

This will be my second csection. When I had my first, the family was all at the hospital. It took a little longer in recovery for me and by the time I really got to see him, everyone else had already had their turn. This part makes me CRAZY!! So to avoid it, I've asked that they come later.

I am scheduling my csection prob on the 8th or the 11th!! Hoping it will just be me n my mom the 1st day but after that I wouldn't mind other people to visit for a short period of time

I personally think visitors in the hospital is a good thing. I'd say to wait until the day after baby is born. This way it's not to hard plus if you wait to have visitors at home then they will stay to long and you'll be really tired from it.

A short 10 minute visit in the hospital is perfect in my opinion.

Thanks ladies, I'm going to try and just keep it immediate family at first and then see how I feel! Just anxious and don't know what to expect!

With the first we had visitors right off the bat. I'd say family only for the first 8 hours after. You'll want to be able to get up and have a shower. After that anything was good with me. Im sure i looked like poo but really could of cared less. I also wasn't getting up to greet people : ) so husband or my mom got to be the friendly greeter.

Its nice to have a little one on one with ur Lo, especially if u r breastfeeding, before being bombarded with visitors.

I'm not restricting visitor. But I would hope my family would have enough sense to let me settle in

I will be giving everyone the ok too before they come. The only ones allowed to visit me right away r my parents. When I had my csection with my son if wax emergency, classical, and I had some problems afterwards, us my son was in the nicu so didn't want any visitors at first. I'm hoping this delivery is much smoother!

Thanks! That sounds like a good idea to give them the ok! We don't know the sex so everyone is really excited ESP my MIL who this is her first grandchild. I think she is more excited then us!

For me, I had my baby in the evening. My mom and mil came the next morning - waiting on us to tell them when was okay. Other then immediate family I wouldn't have wanted anyone else there. Everyone is different. But I did find with being so sore and nurses having to do things for you so often (like changing your pad) I wasn't okay with others coming.
