Question about bleeding

I’m 11 days postpartum from a vaginal delivery. I noticed my bleeding was pretty light last night and today. We went and had photos of the baby done today. My husband was carrying our toddler and I carried our son in his car seat out to the car. I felt a gush of blood that stopped me in my tracks. I thought I was about to hemorrhage. My husband took the baby and I got in the car. The bleeding stopped. I got home and saw the pad was saturated. I got cleaned up and laid down. No bleeding since. I was wondering if you ladies experience this when you’re doing too much. I’ve been pretty active since I gave birth and my husband keeps telling me to take it easy. I do notice I bleed more when I lift our toddler but this is the most I’ve bled at once. I’ll definitely call the doctor if it happens again, but I’m just keeping a watchful eye for now.
