It felt like i had the flu and my breast hurt like hell. I had chills and fever and needed antibiotics. Maybe it's thrush or beginning stages of mastitis?

For me my body got extremely achey and I had a fever of 103. My breast was super hard, very warm, had red patches, and would not empty now matter how much I nursed or pumped. It was horrible. I went to the urgent care where they prescribed me antibiotics for 10 days.

I had it a total of 6 times with 3 different times I've breastfed. For me I felt achey and had pain and tender breast with redness. Had to have antibiotics every time. Now that I am breast feeding twins I haven't gotten it once but it has to be because they are emptying both sides well! When they were a few weeks old and weren't completely emptying the breast I started getting some pain and had a fever one night but I just kept pumping after they ate and it went away the next day.

I've heard that you get flu like symptoms

Also the supply from that breast drastically reduced. I went to the doctor for antibiotics. Unfortunately they antibiotics didn't work for me and I was hospitalized for 3 days to get IV antibiotics.

For me, I didn't have much pain but I had redness and warmth in my breast and I had a fever that lasted for days.
