Bit of a rant
I seriously can't wait to eat something like cereal for breakfast again...lol. With this GD I have been limited to eggs every morning (and I HATE eggs). My high risk OB told me about green smoothies last week so I have had those like 4 times (much better than eggs by far!) but I still wish I could have a bowl of cereal or oatmeal or waffles (omg, I'm making myself so hungry ?). A little over 9 weeks and I will be eating all the foods I miss so much ?
Okay, so I had 1/2 a cup of Raisin Bran (1/2 the recommended serving size) with a small amount of milk and 4 small sausage patties. My blood sugar at 1 hr was 140 (which at 1 hr I should be 140 and under). So that was a good experiment ? At least I was able to indulge in some much wanted cereal ?
Ayla.. I tried that this morning so I will see how my blood sugar looks in 15 minutes ???
I'm on a GD diet but I'm relaxed with it..... i don't have to check my sugars everyday I go in for a fasting 2 hour every 2 weeks. But I've pretty much just cut out all sugary drinks upped my protein and switched my grains to whole wheat...... I cheat I eat donuts sometimes and I had a corn dog at the fair ? but I mean I'm almost 35 weeks pregnant I LOVE food even when I'm not Pregnant lol
@angel.. yes, I am on insulin at night before bedtime. It's supposed to help my fasting numbers but so far my numbers are still above the 90 that they want me under. They upped my dose this morning so we will see if it helps. If I can get my fasting numbers under control then I could probably get away with a bowl of cereal here and there (my insulin is long lasting - 18-24 hours, so a bowl of cereal would probably be okay once in a while).
I have gd also. Im having twins so they have me on a 220 grams of carbs diet. Just wanna say my sugar has not been high since keeping track of it and i was at a friends house all they had was dr pepper so i drank a little bit cause i was so hot and thirsty and my sugar was only 88 when i checked it.
Omg I know!!! GD is soo hard!!! I'm craving donuts, pancakes, subs, Dr Pepper. I had it with my first and my first meal after delivery was a Dr Pepper and pasta. I even went and bought almond flour to make pancakes ? they were horrible. It's soo hard to stay on track but I'm very petite and don't want a c/s. So that's my daily reminder
I'm there with you. I also have GD and even though I'm OK with eggs, it's def not fun having it every day. I try to make myself an omelette with a whole grain toast and some cheese or fried eggs on a low carb wrap. And my numbers afterwards are always good. I could go for some waffles right now tho yumss but it's ok, soon. Only 8 weeks left
@courtney... yes, I have to check my sugars 4 times a day ?
@ ayla... yes, my morning numbers are always my worst, especially my fasting. I have to eat a very low carb or no carb breakfast or else my after breakfast numbers are high too.
@ emb... my high risk OB didn't specify how many eggs. Since I hate them I usually only eat 2 at the most. As for the green smoothies I use fresh spinach (about a cup or so), frozen fruit, light vanilla yogurt (about 2-3 tablespoons) and unsweetened vanilla almond milk. It actually tastes really sweet and good! I was told I can also add flax seeds or chia seeds but I haven't bought any yet. There's also lots of recipes on Google for green smoothies for diabetics ?
GD sucks I have it this pregnancy too, anyways I don't always eat eggs anymore I change it a little after I had experimented with what spikes me, but with cottage cheese and blueberries, or 1 piece of toast with peanut butter, or grits with splenda, or whole grain waffle with sugar free syrup and a piece of sausage. My numbers are still on range when I'm tired of eggs. I control it with diet but I'm so sensitive in the morning with carbs.
Becales.. don't be sorry for me..lol. I've lost 30 lbs this pregnancy and actually feel better physically than I did pre pregnancy. I do miss some of my favorite carb/sugar foods but I know I will soon have them again ?
LaciL... omg, blueberry waffles sound like heaven right now!! ?
So I have question I'm 23 weeks and I thought a 9 lbs weight gain was good but now I'm re thinking it what is normal at this stage is it to much I'm stressing out I am really watching what I eat and I really don't over eat sad mommy here 😔
Can some one please tell me i was reading the pregnancy tracker it says second week you release a egg am i reading this wright in thats were sperm in egg meet!!!

My toddlers like to eat eggs along with their breakfast almost everyday. Together they eat 3 eggs. I’ve been told that too much egg is not good for them and that i should only give them eggs on certain days. So how often can they eat it and how much? I never thought it was too much since its just 1.5 eggs a day each.🤷🏻♀️
Thanks! Me too ? I know I can't do it everyday but I can at least indulge once a week or so ☺️
