Baby wearing in the summer
Baby wearing in the summer
So, I want to start baby wearing for the first time since when my Junebug gets here I will have a 7 yo, 4 yo & a newborn. What is the best wrap/carrier to use in the summer, especially with a newborn? I really need it to be affordable also. Thanks in advance!

I just ordered the Happy! Wrap off their website. It has free shipping and a 5% discount code if you sign up for their newsletter. Got it for $45. Cheaper than Targets price.

Happy wrap ($55 organic bamboo)
Tula carrier ($150)
Love them both ?

Thanks ladies! We live in South Alabama so the heat is something else here in the summer!

I have been searching for a cotton gauze or muslin wrap or sling. I may have to just make one.

I second the k'tan for the price & easy use...the moby is a lot and has so much material
I had my daughter August 2014 and it was a godsend
I also have the ergo with the infant insert but that can get hot so I left it for when we were carrying in malls Ect

A mesh ring sling is designed for use in the water where your buoyancy is different so it's not going to give you or your baby a lot of support outside of the water.
I have a bamboo stretchy wrap and the bamboo is very cool compared to cotton but the multilayer passes may be heavy. A single layer linen ring sling would be a great choice!

Anyone try the ergo with the new "cool" infant insert? Supposed to be breatheable abd cooler

I got the Baby K'tan active carrier to have cooler material for summer. With my first the ergo and infant carrier was way too hot for baby in the summer but great a few months down the line

My sister sent me a link for the Baby K-tan wrap. It's so simple to use! No wrapping yards of fabric around your body and it only costs about $30. I don't know how thick the fabric is, but it's the one I'll be getting.

I just bought a mesh ring sling, haven't tried it out yet (I'm gonna test it on my one year old lol) but I've heard good things about it!

I would say a wrap conversion ring sling (cotton is probably going to be your best bet) it will allow for a single pass over baby and has an easier learning curve then a wrap!
