Moving baby to crib
Tonight is Roman's first night in his own bedroom! He will be 6 months in a couple of weeks so we thought it was past time but we just got a baby monitor (kept putting it off) and so we moved him to his crib earlier tonight BUT he hated it.
The way I did sleep training when my son would wake at night was get up and soothe him (pat and give paci) at 5,10,15,20 min marks until he falls asleep. The first few days were not easy! But it did pay off and he's sleeping 12 hours in his own crib. He was in his crib in the first place so it's not the same but he learned to self soothe. Now he put his own paci in at night sometimes lol
I did 2 things. I put on a fisher price fish play button so it kept her distracted for a bit. It turned off after 20 mins and she was usually asleep by that time. I then moved to a sleep sheep with no light, just sound. Now she sleeps great. I'm still bad though. I let her fall asleep on me. Takes 2 mins and I put her right in the crib. They are only young for so long.
He's been sleeping through the night once he falls asleep but he HATES falling asleep in his crib. I've been letting him fall asleep in his bassinet and then moving him to his crib once he's out. Tonight I rocked him until he fell asleep and then transferred him to crib. I just want him to be able to fall asleep in his crib but I can tell he feels like I abandoned him. ?
