chokes on purees!
Idk how to help my son with solids. We started at 6 months and he HATES everything. When he does manage to swallow (a total of 5-10 times maybe), he chokes. He has 0 interest in food. He doesn't reach for our food and if you hand him food, he doesn't put it in his mouth. Idk how to help him. I feel like in failing him. I've offered avacado, carrots, pears, apples, sweet Potatoe....idk what to. I don't want to breast feed forever.

Maybe try something plain like mashed potato or weet bix... Our son hated most foods to begin with so we had to start with really plain foods for a couple months :-/

Don't stress so much about it! Just keep offering and soon he will figure out something he likes.
The only reason I am feeding is because my dd wanted food really bad. She cries when I eat, she cries after her bottle until she gets food, she grabs at my food... And eats snacks throughout the day. She was just ready. But every baby is different... If she wasn't ready then I wouldn't even be giving her food. Milk is the most important factor until a year old, and wow babies change a lot from 6 months to a year, so don't worry!

My dd isn't eating either. She is 10 months and gets most of her meals from me. But if I'm eating she has to taste what I'm eating so I usually end up with a huge mess to clean up because she is grabbing my food, tasting it and throwing it. Lol. Your lo will get it. No worries. :)

My baby wasn't interested in solids until 12 months. All babies are different and breastmilk is all they need until 12 months anyway. Keep introducing food and one day it will start to click.

Our pedi told us to start at 4 mo but we waited until 6mo. He's 7mo and can sit up unassisted and about to crawl. He's only interested in plates and silverware I think bout if I hand him food he doesn't usually put it in his mouth. Idk about the tongue thrust though

You could always ask your doctor to see a specialist just to make sure everything is on target. No underlying causes.

Yep it takes a while. And like pp said stick with one thing. Dd didn't like rice but loved oatmeal. Also I thickened hers with oatmeal, it seemed that she had a hard time with really thinned out food like the jar kind. They also make the gerber puffs that dissolve in babies mouth that's what we used to teach self feeding...I didn't feel comfortable with Cherrios..I would take bananas and freeze them whole peel on(the peel will turn black when frozen but it's fine no worries). When ready to serve pull out about an hr before and take peel off naner will be squishy and ready to eat plus then you don't have to worry about them spoiling before you get them eaten.

First of all, pick one thing and keep offering it. Food is new to the baby. Don't overwhelm them with all sorts of new things. Pick one thing and let your baby get used to it. Offer a little bit each day. Eventually they will figure it out. Then offer another thing and repeat. Also, babies will gag at first. It's a good thing because they are learning and developing a gag reflex is part of that. Choking means your baby isn't breathing.

Thicker foods. Bananas, cookies (they have for his age) etc.

My son wasn't real interested in baby food or table food until about 9months. He might not be ready just yet.

And I feel like I'm breastfeeding forever still. She's almost 2 1/2!

Maybe it's too soon. Don't stress. Some babies eat solids later than others if they are breast fed. Research baby led weaning. Good luck! If it makes you feel better my LO didn't want to eat solids until she was at least 10 months.

Food before one is just for fun! As long as he's still nursing a lot don't sweat it momma. He'll take to food eventually. Did you try a BLW approach? In the very beginning they usually only eat 2oz or less at a time of purees..
