Clothes you can breast feed in I didn't think of how I was going to breast feed and only had one top I could wear!
Also snacks is a big one! I got giving a jar of lollies and they were awesome me when I found my self hungry in the middle of the night hehehe!

Bump for timefortwo x

Chapstick or paw paw ointment for your lips is a must, and make sure you take it into the birth suite! All that pushing and heavy breathing dries your lips out terribly!

Sports bottle of water for labor, easier to drink from laying down, weird positions.

Oh yep will add Gatorade to my list
deleted-user·
Renn17, Gatorade for your labour bag!!! :-)

Plastic bags for yours & babys dirty clothes, chapstick & change for vending machines.

I have 3 bags - one for bub, one for me and a labor bag. Not sure what I need to put in the labor bag though. Right now it has a couple of packs of lollies and some massage oil. That should get me through labor ?

A notepad or journal and a pen, chargers for phone/iPad/camera etc, fruit, light dressing gown, socks (cold even in summer if air cons are on), your own facewashers, stock your ph number up with everyone's numbers if you don't use Facebook/plan on announcing the birth that way, im going to pack a letter with cards to my hubby and son- this will be our last bub so want to say a few things to them!

I was told Chapstick! Have yet to find out if its worth it though, 37+2 and counting ;) also a couple of plastic bags for any dirty clothes too

This sounds terrible but staring at my newborn wasn't enough...I got so bored with no visitors (was in for about 5 days all up). Some trashy magazines or your iPod with alot of aps won't hurt. Something that doesn't take too much concentration but will pass the time if you find it hard to sleep on rock hard hospital beds in a room that's still semi light!

Feesha - how is your list looking? I think I'm going to need a suitcase to take all this stuff.

Buy some cheap undies that will hold the surfboard sized maternity pads! Haha. I got one of those 7 packs from big w. that way your nice undies don't get blood stains.
Definitely take socks, cheap comfy pj's (you may get blood on those too), dressing gown, and a phone charger. Snacks are great too!
deleted-user·
This is brilliant. I have added all this to my list as well.

Granny undies! Lol just incase you have to have a c-section x

I completely agree with the toilet paper. (& lean forward to wee)
Pj pants, I lived in mine the whole time I was in hospital.
Agree with the foundation & mascara!!!!
Your camera, phone charger, magazines. (just things to keep you entertained while you don't have visitors & babes asleep.
Your slippers, it usually gets cold at night. & your own pillow. & I took my own shampoo & what not. :-)

A loose top to wear after birth. I only packed breast feeding singlets and didn't like the thought if putting one of them on cause they are quite tight, lucky I'd packed a tshirt for my hubby incase so I wore that for a day. Libra maternity pads are the best brand, pack 2 packets just incase you stay for a while. Also a couple of sterilised bottles just incase you can't breast feed, I didn't like the idea of using hospital ones if I couldn't feed.

My OH stayed with me 1 of the 2 nights I was on labour ward being induced wish I had packed him deodorant and a shirt!!! But yes lots of snacks. I didnt have much dinner after delivery( tea was tuna ewww so the midwife made me toast) but from my room on maternity ward I could see the golden arches, at 6am waiting 4 breakfast what I wouldn't have given for hot cakes. Luckily I had milo bars!! All this talk is making me want to pack my bags now ( I'm only 16 weeks)

Thongs for the shower and wandering around in

I got caught out with clothes for bubs, I took all the 0000 and they were too small! Had to get my sister to go home & get me more larger sizes. And I found it cold - socks and jumpers were useful!
deleted-user·
tooth brush n tooth paste!! they use Johnson's there to wash bub with so if ur happy with that u don't need ur own...umm I prefered to use their towels less washing for me when I got home and I had a few soft blankets to put in bubs bed

I had my son there 4 months ago,I took maternity pads but there were some in my draw.I would take some snacks like museli bars as they give u brekky ,lunch ,dinner .Also they will have a water jug for u with cup but found it easier to have a water bottle which I could fill at the bubbler.Take your own pillow (those u shape ones are also great to feed with. They have shower gel in shower and towels face washers and bath mats that u just get and take to shower. If I think of anything else I will pm u .
