Bright spot on heart?
Just received a phone call from my doctor saying they saw a bright spot on the baby's heart yesterday at my anatomy scan. She told me not to worry but now I'm stressed. She said years ago they linked the bright spot with Down syndrome but since have not been able to reproduce those studies. She said most likely it's nothing but to be cautious She wants me to see a high risk doctor. Anyone else with experience with this?

That happened at my 20 week scan I am now 27 weeks and 4 days the specialist told me that spot would always be there and nothing was wrong with my baby but my doctor said just to be safe when I hit 24 weeks I started having weekly visits until baby is born I have a nst and ultrasound done every week to monitor his heart they said everything was looking good

My baby had one during my second trimester and they just said it was calcium build up n that it was normal. It got smaller over time. Don't panic yet

I see women post a lot that they have this happen and when they get a follow up with the specialist it's gone :)

I was able to get an appointment for Thursday so I'm hoping everything is ok! I keep reading usually it's ok which is calming me down

Yes...and don't worry trust me ....I was worried for no reason....it's cuz I was taking on strong medication in the beginning of my pregnancy....I didn't know I was at the Time

I had the same this happen! They found it at my 20week scan and they also told me it COULD lead to Down syndrome but that it was probably nothing. They called it a calcium drop. At my 32 week ultrasound it had gone away by itself ☺️so don't worry I'm sure you're LO is fine! Try not to stress, easier said than done I know ?

My bub had one at my 20wk scan, a follow up scan at 24wks showed it was gone.
8 days after my baby girl was born we found out she has down syndrome.

My first born had this, in addition to another soft marker for Down syndrome. I was told if they only found one marker, as in your case, most doctors don't even tell the mom because most of the time it is nothing to worry about and causes unnecessary stress. He was perfectly fine. Hugs ?

Well the heart looks normal on the ultrasound for mine but the down syndrome in the blood work came back " slightly elevated" so I need to go to a level 2 ultrasound. T_T she told me not to worry either but now I'm worried.

Just got home from the specialist and they told me it is nothing!! Thank god!
