what do you do when
You have sick kids at home? Do you let them just veg on the couch watching tv or movies all day? Does it depend on how sick they are or do you not allow tv at all? I feel like all my kids do is watch tv...
When they are sick yes I let them bum and watch tv/iPad. If not sick they have to have made sure rooms are clean along with any toys of theirs laying around the house. Homework done read for at least 20 minutes before any tv time and I limit it each day but mostly they just listen to music videos while playing so I don’t worry about it too much. Except my younger two but they don’t even sit long enough for the tv to be an issue
When they're sick they can basically do what they want. If they're sick enough to only want to lay on the couch and watch TV then I'll let them. My kids are super active usually so I know they are miserable if they aren't wanting to play. I know when I'm sick I just want to rest and feel better.
My three-year-old was sick yesterday, she had been throwing up in the middle of the night. She was allowed to watch movies for the first half of the day so I could try to keep her away from our 6 month old. She was really excited, because she's normally not allowed to watch TV until night time when I'm making dinner.
My son is sick right now. He slept in until 8:30, cuddled with me on the couch for a while, then told me he wanted a nap and fell asleep just before noon. I let them control what comfort and activity level they want. They won’t do more than the can handle or are comfortable with.
That's what I did when I was younger and sick and what I will probably let my kids do if they are actually sick like with a fever. Just seemed more comforting to me than being confined to my bed 24/7
