Hotel Transylvania

My friend is a teacher and she wants to know if it is a good movie to show her 7-8 years old kids. She hasn't watched it and she doesn't know if it is scary or not. If you've seen it, what do you think?

My 5 year old loves it... I'm sure 7 year olds wouldn't be scared.

We don't celebrate Halloween.... but let's face it, monsters are cool! It's just fantasy story telling.

@sangria wow! A 5 year old watching hunger games? My husband's younger siblings wanted to borrow it from me after I bought it but the youngest were I think 11 at the time. I told them I would let my MIL watch it first and if she agreed then they could borrow it. I was afraid that even at that age some of the material might be too grown up. When I was 5 I mainly watched Disney movies ?

I think it's fully appropriate for children and even more so for kids that age! We have and adore them both ♡ It doesn't mention Halloween either and has some great lessons about diversity, so I feel it does have an educational purpose :)

I let my 4 year old watch it a lot. It's PG, Some Material May Not Be suitable for children, Some Rude humor, Action and scary Images. That's what it says on my blu ray case.

Maybe she was teaching her kids about survival of the fittest ?

My children love Hotel Transylvania

Wow pp how could hunger games be better for kids than a kids movie?

I'll try and ask my friend what she ended up showing.

Also a funny story about this. At first she wanted to show Hocus Pocus. She hadn't watched it in years. When watching it again yesterday afternoon she realized it was really inappropriate. You know with the hanging and zombie coming out of the earth and sexual jokes. That's why she went and rented Hotel Transylvania. But she was tight on time to watch it before today. But she told be she'd take time to watch it before showing it to her students.

Great movie... my kids watched it then told me to watch it (i hate new cartoons) I loved it

It may not be about Halloween, but the monsters, vampires and zombies are so closely related to Halloween that we wouldn't want our daughter to watch it. If your friend decides to show it. I agree with the permission slip, that way you can try to accommodate those children if there is any.

It's one of my kids' favorites! And mine and dh's ? I think it's fine.

You can only show a "G" rated movie in school. Hotel Transylvania is PG. A letter and permission slip must be sent to families before a child can watch a movie.

It's not scary but shouldn't she be showing something a little more educational?

My kids are 3 & 5 and got bored with it LOL!

I agree. The movie isn't really about Halloween at all. It's more so about Dracula's daughter meeting a human and falling in love with him rather than falling in love with another monster-type creature. The movie is really cute. My sons (ages 4 and 18 months) love both of those movies!

I personally wouldn't. Seeing as we don't celebrate Halloween for religious reasons and I wouldn't want my child watching it. There may be parents who agree with my opinion.

It's a good choice for that age. Not scary at all, very funny

Definitely hidden adult humor. But not a terrible movie.

My son is almost two and it's his favourite movie, dances when music plays and copies Dracula. Definetly ok for that age group

Dd is 3.9 and she loves this movie! Both 1 and 2.

It's a good movie, I saw it awhile back. I can't exactly remember how kid friendly it was. I would also suggest she watches it beforehand

27.10.2016 Нравится Ответить

It's more funny then scary. It has some hidden adult humor though so idk

27.10.2016 Нравится Ответить

If she's showing it in class, she needs to watch it first. That's a common rule for every school I've worked at.
