Drinking water for 20 weeks u/s?

Drinking water for 20 weeks u/s?

I go for my anatomy scan on Monday and plan on seeing the sex too. They didn't tell me to drink water beforehand and have a full bladder at the u/s.

They told me to drink 32 oz of water for my 8 week scan and when I got there (after filling myself with all of that water!) they told me I needed an empty bladder..... Don't drink more than you would normally.

my first ultrasound @ 9w I went with one & during it, I was told to empty completely. same for my 20w anatomy scan. so idunno

it depends on the machine and the tech, for my anatomy scan i needed a full bladder so they could measure my cervical length, but she stopped and i could get up and go pee as often as i needed to.

Yes you are good without drinking water. I made the mistake and drank a bunch of water and had to go like four times during my gender scan lol. Good question!! Take care!

It doesnt matter if you drink water. At least they never told me that when i got ultrasounds, except for my 3d ultrasound which was done at 34 weeks and the baby was big (they recommend to do it no later than 32 weeks) so i guess the extra fluid helped to see the baby

I'm 7 weeks and had my first ultrasound with an empty bladder. I think they made me do that with my daughter 20 years ago, though .

You do need to drink water to make sure you are hydrated. Makes for an easier ultrasound. Just don't have a full bladder. It's uncomfortable and the pressure could make you pee yourself :)
