stupid question, but...
How do you take a shower while there is a 2.5 year old in the house, when there is no one else to watch him? My son just started climbing out of his pack n play. I also work part time and need to shower before work. I can't keep him in bathroom because he will be constantly flushing toilet and pull everything apart in there, plus it's just dangerous with water on the floor
Yeah that's what I have been doing lately when I take quick showers. Still need to try doing this when I wash my hair. That takes a while to do. It's to the middle of my back
We have those child safety door locks. Only thing we are worried about keeping him from in his room alone is we don't want him climbing his dresser. We don't have it secured to the wall yet.
There are those child safety door handles that make it so toddler can not open the door you can put that on his bedroom door or another room you wanna keep him in, give him his tablet and go take a shower...
My toddler gets into everything too he can get all the child locks off except this door handle so that's nice...
If you don't want to do that, you can also put one of screw in mini locks on the top of his door, that you lock from the outside, put him in his room shut the door lock it of corse have the monitor with you in the shower, take a quick shower an your done...
It's better to do it this way then have him get into knifes electrocute himself etc while your showering, he's safe and happy on his room...
With my ds I either take him with me he loves showers or I just wait till my husbands home or ds is napping...
Good luck
No constant wake up time. Any where between 6:30 and 8:30. I could bring him in but I think he is afraid of shower. I don't think he's bored, just like to see what he can get into when no one's watching. He loves his tablet but that does not seem to help when we leave the room
Wow it sounds like maybe he's bored so he looking for trouble. I don't know him, but are there any activities that will keep him busy for 15 mins, or maybe a favorite movie or TV show you can put on? And does he do any of those dangerous things while you're with him, and if so what do you give him as a consequence?
My only other suggestion would be to put him in the shower with you and let him play. I often take showers with my 3 year old daughter and she loves it. Otherwise I just take them before she wakes up. Does he have a consistent wake up time or does it vary?
Yes, he opens the fridge, (even though it's tapped shut) he knows how to get the covers off the wall sockets, he stands on his toys to reach high places and when in bathroom will flush toilet. We have to hide all garbage cans in the house or he will go through them. We do have child locks on doors, drawers and cabinets. But he always seems to get into something when u walk away for a minute. It's like he just knows. I am not a night time shower person. After sleeping in my own sweat for 7 hours I need a shower, I just feel gross and also can't go to bed with wet hair
Thanks guys. My son does not nap here anymore. The thing with the toilet is he will constantly flush it. The bathroom we use is not in the bedroom.
I usually put my daughter in the shower with me. I gave her little toys and cups to play with on the floor of the shower and she would sit there and play while I showered. If she didn't shower with me I would give her my phone and let her sit on the bathroom floor and play a game or watch a movie on it. If your afraid he will get into things drawer and cabinet locks are a life saver along with a toilet lock.
That's what I want to do but my husband says bad idea.
He knows how to climb baby gates unfortunately. I'm so lost on what to do. He can also open doors that don't have hold locks on them. So if I close his bedroom door he will open it and get out
I usually give him his tablet, that used to work. Now that he knows he can get out of pack n play when I leave the room that what he does. Oh he does not go in his high chair anymore. He would never stay in it anyway, he pretty much knows how to undo all kinds of straps and buckles
Can he be locked in the stroller or high chair for a quick shower . I don’t work so I have the privilege of showering when my toddler naps in the afternoon . But on days I need to shower in the morning I get up before her so I can be ready before her day starts or I keep her occupied on the bed with something to do . Today i gave her a bunch of paired socked to open and play with . I had to repair and fold them but at least she was busy while i showered in time to go out for lunch .
Is there anyone that didn’t get their drivers license until they were older? My brother still hasn’t taken his test. (mother and Aunt would rather get him an ID so he can start working and take him to and from work) just curious to see if it’s more common than I think.
Creeped out!
A new guy at work just tickled the back of my neck! I cringed and told him "Don't ever touch me, that weirds me out!" On Monday he pulled my braid as I was grabbing parts for him, I also told him don't ever do that. Ugh. I don't feel comfortable working with him EVER! A coworker told me that when she walked past he said "what's cooking good looking". I feel he doesn't deserve to work here. I can't feel like I'm going to be harassed at work. Like who does that?? I'm so creeped ou...
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
I put on a show for her and take a 5 minute shower- the house is baby proofed and all doors are shut. Then when she goes to bed I’ll relax in the bath if I need more time.
